Kent Somers tweeted it from the Steve Keim presser at the combine. To me it is an indication how well the team was coached from top to bottom to be as competitive as they were.

Asked if #azcardinals were as good as 49ers, Sea in '13: Keim: '..on each side of ball, we were at least 2-3 players away..."

Offense - LT, G and TE (Cooper is one of those)
Defense - S, #2 CB and OLB

Looks about right to me.

Keim's mentioned a few times about getting longer too. I've assumed he's meant Safety to cover TEs, or maybe CB (Pierre Desir out of Lindenwood is a name I've heard a lot lately on various podcasts - 6'2").
Lots a talk in the media about the copycat league mimicking Seattle with their big defensive backs as the next trend.

I like a couple corner backs in round 3. I would love Baptiste(6'2) but also like Desire(6'1) and Purifoy he's still 6 feet and athletic as all hell. Sign a legit LT you have your number 1 pick from last year coming back who people say might grade out higher than any o lineman from this draft.

Round 1 Austin Seferian-Jenkins (6'5)
Round 2 Kyle Van Noy( probably Not there) maybe Shazier
Round 3 Stanley Jean-Baptiste (6'2)
Round 4 Andre Williams a big strong as hell RB to carry the load

My dream draft. Bigger more athletic and physical

My guess, in the first, and using the trust your board philosophy, that we'll take the big DE from Minnesota. As SK said we don't have much depth on the DL and have to consider a replacement for DD a year or two down the road. Naturally a TE, SS, CB or OT are all needs but I just think that at #20 Hegemann will be the BPA.

I'm starting to lean that way as well. Ra'shede Hageman is 6'6" and explosive so he fits what they are looking for to eventually replace Darnell Dockett & he'll probably be on the board. Other possibilities are 6'2" safety Calvin Pryor or one of the two cornerbacks [Darqueze Dennard or Justin Gilbert] if they fall all the way to 20. I doubt if they go tight end in the first round unless Eric Ebron falls and that won't happen.

I'm leaning towards Pryor 1st and WR or DL 2nd - Easley, OL - 3rd - Mewhort,

4th - WR Huff, Herron, DeAnthony Thomas or Tevin Reece.

Above is what Bruce Cooper would do if he was Steve Keim. For the most part it is a solid plan but I cannot see ARZ trading up while also surrendering the 2015 first rounder to take WR Sammy Watkins, unless Larry is gone after this season which may be possible because his cap hit for next year is over $20M and in order to stay with ARZ he would have to accept a pay cut.

To highlight if you don't feel like looking at article:

Re-sign: Dansby, Shaunessey, Winston & Rucker

FA: Eugene Monroe

Draft:
Round 1 - WR Sammy Watkins
Round 2 - RB Kadeem Carey
Round 3 - OLB Kyle Van Noy (will not be there IMHO)
Round 4 - CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste
Round 5 - CB Terrence Mitchell
Round 6 - S Antone Exum

Some of the picks are intriguing such as Exum who missed most of last year with an ACL injury but was one of the top safeties entering his SR year. The secondary would get its size and playmaking with Jean-Baptiste & Mitchell. Carey & Watkins would solve offensive woes. My only gripes are giving up a 1st round pick in 2015 to move up & Kyle Van Noy will not last past Round 2 in fact he may not last until ARZ's pick in Round 2.

I didnt know Hageman had such a rough upbringing. His story is similar to

Michael Oher. He bounced around to 12 foster homes and his dad was killed

when he was a toddler. His mother had a crack addiction. Another player

who is moving up the boards is South Carolinas Kelcy Quarles. Kiper claims

he is now a mid second rounder. I watched him destroy my Kentucky Wildcats

earlier in the year. He is 6 foot 4 300 pounds and cat quick.

I like the creative thinking and love Watkins, but (a) I think it would take more than a 2015 1st to move up to get him (see Julio Jones trade); (b) I don't think Watkins makes it to #7. I think he will be a top 5 pick.

As for taking a RB in round 2---we drafted 2 RBs last year, Ellington wound up having at least a 2nd round value (I would argue late 1st round value) and he's put on 10 pounds of muscle already this off-season and Taylor is a good complimentary RB to Ellington and we still have a 2nd rounder in Ryan Williams.

There is no way that Van Noy is still on the board at #84. He is going to wow the GMs coaches and scouts at the Combine with his athleticism and solidify himself as a top 40 pick.

Jean-Baptiste won't make it to the 4th round either. Teams are copycats and because of the Seahawks, big press CBs are in vogue. Same for Mitchell from Oregon---no way he's sitting there in the 5th round.

Addressing the SS position in the 6th round on a good prospect coming back from a knee injury is not what BA&SK have in mind.

If anything, i think Steve Keim is going to trade down from #20. He wants more picks and he did a very good job of creating them with trade downs last year.

I think Sammy Watkins is going to the Raiders. ( Al Davis does a dance). They

finally hit on a first rounder. I would rather for the Cards to trade down this

year. Mike Mayock claims its the best draft in 10 years and Keim could do

damage with an extra third rounder. The Bengals for example could offer us

a pick in order to jump the Eagles for Gilbert or Dennard.

Give away a future 1st for a wide receiver? Hell no. if you want to trade away a future 1 you do it to get a QB no other position in my opinion. We just went through this amazing WR group with no QB so what happens when Palmer is gone in a year or two? Just repeating the past. We just spent a 1 on Floyd who looks to be developing very nice. Let's let him develop.

A running back in round 2? Like mentioned before we drafted two good ones last year. I'm all for a big back but not before round 4

No way Van Noy is there that late.
