I have not read any of the magazines yet but found this article about the Diamondbacks.
http://www.rantsports.com/videos/2013/02/13/mlb-previews-arizona-diamondbacks-expectations-for-2013/

I think for the Diamondbacks to make it to the playoffs this year, they will need to get good starting pitching. Miley should continue his success from last year and the key will be if Kennedy can pitch like he did in 2011. Good news out of camp is that Cahill has quit eating junk food and lost 15 pounds. I think if Hudson can contribute when he gets back in July, that would be a bonus. The bullpen should be their strength as long as they stay healthy. The offense will rely more on the fundamentals, moving runners over and getting them in. I wonder how many free tacos Taco Bell will be giving out this year? :)

My prediction, I think they will contend for a wild card spot. The Giants should be the favorites in the west but if they lose any key guys to injuries, maybe then the Diamondbacks could challenge them and the Dodgers for the west title.

Your end, maybe. :D:D

I predict our :dbacksnake: will "grit" their way into the World Series. Of course, we'll have to wait until the All Star game to see which league is then gifted home field advantage based upon the results of an exhibition game designed to showcase all of its stars.

I am not wild about the Dodgers. Grienke's contract was the worst since John Lackey. The guy has had one All-Star quality season in entire his career. He is a slightly above average pitcher with a really bad clubhouse reputation and they paid him like a future hall of famer.

After Kershaw the rest of the rotation is pretty bleh. They have a batting order that is counting on some serious bounce back seasons if its going to have any consistency and a very suspect defensive team. You toss in some clubhouse cancers like Grienke, Ramirez and Becket... I think a catastrophe is more likely than a championship.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Diamondbacks made the playoffs over the Dodgers.....but the trophy is coming back to SF.
enough talk, time to get back to watching Buster Posey polish his trophy.
