Spurs played horrible I don't think I've ever seen then look worse than in that 3rd. 23 turnovers for the game and yet they still win by 15.

Come on Lebron. I understand cramping and all that I've had them but man this dude acted like he got shot they literally had to carry him off the floor. I've never seen that.

Lebron has a bad history with leg cramps. Don't understand it. But when some athletes cramp up, their entire bodies lock up. It turns from pain tolerance to immobility.

I had sporadic calf cramps when I was a sprinter. Still do to this day. The pain was debilitating, but what was worse was not being able to move my feet. Made me useless on the track.

As for the game, San Antonio gets boat raced if not for the air conditioner incident. They were careless with the ball.

Dwayne Wade is the biggest free loader in the NBA. LeBron goes out of the game and Miami gets smashed....and Wade does absolutely nothing.

I laughed my butt off when JVG said that "This is when its nice to have Wade, Wade is capable of carrying Miami to a win by himself even against such a good team like the Spurs"....umm no Jeff, maybe like 8-9 years ago? Sure but not the broken down piece of crap that Wade is today. They had the lead when LeBron went out the first time and then Wade helped them lose by 15 afterwards.

I wonder if the Heat would even get a top 4 seed in the weak ass East without LeBron on their team.

Wade should donate his salary of the last 3 years to LeBron or LeBron's choice of charity because Wade and his Heat would be irrelevant if LBJ wasn't in South Beach.

Good luck with that. It ain't happening.

I'm not sure it's as far as one step away. People say, "Well then why do you watch," and my answer is (a) I don't, very much, and (b) when I do, it can still be entertaining, just as any other scripted drama is. It's not like I think the outcome on a Law and Order episode is a mystery to the people who wrote the script!

As much as I love basketball and the Suns, the NBA playoffs are the least surprising and interesting basically every year compared to the other pro sports. I mean, how is a Spurs-Heat rematch even mildly unexpected? Every damn year, you know going into the playoffs there are only 2 or 3 teams that have a serious shot at the trophy.

I expected a Heat vs Spurs rematch and I'm very happy we got it, why? Because these are by far the two best teams in the NBA this is basketball on the highest levels. Last year's finals was just great basketball what fan of the sport wouldn't want to see as rematch.

Like I said I understand cramps but I've never seen someone literally get carried off because of them.

As bad as SA played it was still only like a 4-6 point game going into the forth and that 3rd quarter was just horrible for SA so it's not like the Heat were in complete control here

I was thinking that maybe the solution is for fouls to be less punitive, so that referees aren't so reluctant to call them in cases where they know they should. Steve Javie's little side commentaries for TNT were very revealing. He kept talking about how referees need to "know the game situation" as part of the equation for whether to make a foul call. He made no apology whatsoever for the sliding scale of what does or does not constitute a foul: If it's a star's sixth foul, or even his fifth, you have to know that, and you have to officiate accordingly.

What if fouling out were impossible? Instead, you could have other penalties for excessive fouling: For example, after a player's sixth foul, the other team gets a technical free throw. Maybe at the eighth foul the penalty gets larger, two free throws or whatever. Excessive foulers would still be punished, but we wouldn't have these huge swings in which one bad call -- say, for example, the third foul on LeBron James early in the second quarter -- completely changes the complexion of a game.

As for referees swallowing their whistles when the game is on the line, this wouldn't help that, but it could at least be a start.

That is a good idea. I think something like that should be put into play, 6th foul is a technical plus the ball and/or any other free throws that may be needed. I think another option is going with a penalty box sort of situation. Where a player with 6 or more fouls has to stay out of the game for X amount of minutes. Even changing it to be something like 3 fouls in a quarter eliminates them from the rest of the quarter. Something could be done or implemented to make things called more consistently without them worrying so much about fouling out a superstar.

We all knew that the ref's gave preferential treatment to the 'stars' but I'm surprised Javie admitted it so openly. I can certainly get behind most anything that uniformizes what does and does not constitute a foul.

I'm not sure that making the sixth and subsequent fouls into technical fouls is a good idea as techs have too many ramifications, just award more FTs and/or possession.

While they're at it they should institute a possession arrow like the college game as jump balls get screwed up by the refs all too often, plus you always gain something by tying up an opponent.
