Of course they did. It wouldn't make any sense for them to admit it and lose so much leverage. (if they were indeed looking at trading him).

There are situations where this approach makes sense but this isn't one of them IMO. It's not like it would come as a shock to Bledsoe and his agent or burn a bridge between us and him. We can only trade him if he wants to be traded and then we can only trade him where he wants to go. Again, IMO, if there is any truth to this it was merely a fact finding mission so we wouldn't be in the dark if Bledsoe chooses to sign elsewhere. It makes sense to gauge trade value to prepare for that possibility but it doesn't have anything to do with the suggestion that we were actively seeking to move him. And that's all the front office really denied. I think they've made it clear that they intend to keep him.

Gerardo Parra ‏@G_phx Jun 26
@judefox10: @Gambo987 Says there is no truth to the rumor. Talked directly to Suns

I read this comment as well. I do not go to Jude LaCava as a sports source. Should I know Gerardo Parra?

No, but you should know Gambo.

ETA: Parra is an outfielder for the DBacks.

I do know and follow Gambo especially when the Suns are on the move as he is close to Sarver. For everyday activities I follow Paul Coro. I thought Parra said the rumor was untrue.

Maybe I'm misreading the tweet.

Is it Gambo via Parra?

I don't think the Suns would trade Bledsoe away either, I'm just throwing out what's reported.

Congratulations on proving your rumor and the source. :)

So many sources are unnamed.

Jude LaCava @judefox10
I would not only enlist Jerry Colangelo in the recruiting of Lebron/I would utilize Charles Barkley as well/must secure Bledsoe on match
If Houston brought in Hakeem, Drexler etc to all their FA meetings with Dwight, 'Melo and now LeBron, why wouldn't/shouldn't we bring in Chuck?

Hell bring in KJ too. Hornacek would probably love that.

I would love to see Lebron join the Suns, Bosh go to Houston, Gasol to OKC, Love go to GS, and Melo can go where ever in the East. It would be great to see these West teams battle it out during the season, but the playoffs would be so fun! Suns, Clippers, Houston, GS, OKC, Spurs, Portland, Maybe Dallas and Memphis out of the west, Man my dream scenario as far as a competitive league for sure. That and the Lakers would suck for a long time! One can dream.

I think Chuck would be a liability in such a situation. Kevin Johnson would be an asset but why go this direction. The Suns would be better letting McDonough present his vision supported by Sarver and Hornacek.

Larry Fitzgerald might be a nice ambassador but I agree, Chuck would probably be a liability.

I'd settle for Lebron coming to Phoenix. Let the other teams fend for themselves. :)

Fitz would be good if we crossed sports ambassadors.

I can't even listen to Barkley.

LA routinely brings in their Hollywood connections, I don't see why we shouldn't bring in perhaps the greatest ambassador we've ever had for the state of Arizona. And a cactus. Lead with your strengths.

I choose the Jumping Cholla cactus. Nothing gets away from it. :)

The guy who posted that is a different Parra. But yes Gambo did say there was no truth to those rumors(which started with Chad Ford).

I think it would be smart to bring in a former great or two who played here to help influence the matters.

I remember last year, Dwight said that Hakeem played a crucial role in him signing with Houston.

If Nash had already retired, it would have been a no brainer to bring in the 2 time MVP to the meetings.

If Steve Nash were retired, Kevin Johnson and Steve Nash would make great representatives. They were great players plus they are quite intelligent and well spoken. KJ already has a great track record keeping the Kings in Sacramento and also being Mayor there.

I do hope the Lakers use the stretch provision on Nash. I would love to see Nash retire in the Suns uniform without paying for it or expecting him to play. Sign him for the minimum, and have him play the last 5 minutes in the last game next year. I just wish he never went to LA and retired instead. It pains me to see the great Steve Nash reduced to what he's been reduced to. :-(

More importantly he is president of the players union?

Bring Colangelo, KJ, Fitzgerald, Patrick Peterson, Randy Johnson, Eric Bledsoe and Goran Dragic..

Maybe it is naive, but I think if the Suns could get him back in Phoenix for near the minimum and get him back into his old routine with trainers and medical staff, he could be at least a spot contributor. IMO, the right ending for Steve's carer is to retire a Sun.

I think Kevin Johnson is the Chairman of the NBPA Executive Committee. Chris Paul is the President.

That would be wonderful, but I wouldn't even expect that. I just want him to wear the Suns uniform again before he retires. Don't even care if it's as a contributor, or as a non-playing player. It would be just wrong for Nash to retire elsewhere.

+1 . It would be a fitting end to a great career and even better going out with a ring if by some Miracle we get LeBron
