That's the point! They don't play by the same rules for the majority of the season. Until the World Series.
A.L. teams play a DH specialist (or two in a platoon) all season long (based even more than position players on just their hitting skills). N.L. teams have to use a sub during the World Series to fill that position. That puts them at a disadvantage.
The end results of the last 10 WS show that the disadvantage you speculate is either not there or is simply not relevant. The NL has a 6-4 lead over the AL. Even if KC wins this WS the last 10 will still be 6-4 NL. So where does this disadvantage show up in the results?
Reed just sucks and sucked the worst when it counted the most.
Congrats to KC!!!! No team was more deserving on this year's playoffs. I wonder if they can keep Cueto? If so, this team could be back next year.
