I think its going to be hard to get Melo moved to Houston, because NY thinks they actually have to get something of value in return. As long as that is the case, nothing will happen.

The Suns can give them Knight and some 2nd round picks if they give us first round picks. :)

Do they really think Derrick Rose will be any kind of difference maker? BK would be a better option. At least he can run.

I know this comment is somewhat facetious, but this might have some merit. If NY gives up Melo, Phx gives up BK, I wonder if Houston would be willing to part with a distant future 1st (ala the Dragic trade).

That way NY gets something reasonable back for Melo. (BK doesn't suck. He just sucks here off the bench. He's a 15ppg/4apg/3rpg player when starting.)
Houston gets Melo for a down the road 1st that are probably in the 20's anyway.
Phoenix dumps the BK contract and salvages something from the catastrophic BK trade then sign. The gamble for Phx is that Houston stumbles somewhere and we luck into a good pick. If not, we at least pull a late 20 pick.

I was being somewhat facetious. At this point I would be happy if the Suns could move Knight without giving up a first round pick or other quality asset.

For having a sure-fire Finals team, Dan Gilbert really sucks at owning and managing a franchise. He's about to lose LeBron twice in one decade and also his 2nd best player. What a colossal embarrassment.

I hope we don't hop in on the Irving sweepstakes. IMO he is really overrated and I expect he'd cost us something like Bledsoe and Jackson.

Also... really? You can't handle sharing the ball more than the small amount you currently have to Kyrie? He was in the top 5 in shot attempts per game. LeBron is one of the least selfish superstars ever, if Irving cannot handle playing alongside him then I expect he is the type of player who'd prefer to go 41-41 while he drops 30 a night instead of playing team ball and winning.

On Kyrie-Suns talk: If LeBron leaving Cleveland in 2018, Cavs would want young players picks as they start over. Bledsoe won't get it done

I agree, not high on kyrie for the price, no way in hell i i touch jackson. For once, bill simmons actually had a non idiotic trade idea:

"I'm amending - this one is better Knicks get: Kyrie, Shump's deal Suns get: Ntilinka, Frye's expiring Cavs get: Melo, Bledsoe, NYK 2018 1st"

Basically bledsoe for the 8th pick in this draft, matches the timeline. I'd do it depending how high suns are on ntilinka.

That is actually a really fair trade on paper... my hesitation would be that I think Ntlinka is going to a complete washout.

I came here to post that Simmons trade also. It actually makes a lot of sense. Of course it may hinge on Lebron guaranteeing Cleveland he'll sign an extension or that he won't opt out. He'll have Melo and Bledsoe, two of his good friends there, so it makes sense.

Man... that Cavs team would have very little outside shooting.

Is the Nstikiloilililivili kid any good? If he is, I might do that deal and just run with the youngsters.

Wait... the Cavs are going to get Bledsoe, Melo AND what's SURE to be a high lotto 2018 pick for Kyrie AND Dumping salary?

That looks to be too good too be true for Cleveland.

I agree. The Cavaliers would be in fat city. There has to be more. Bledsoe should have more value than an unproven rookie.

I'm amending - this one is better
Knicks get: Kyrie, Shump's deal
Suns get: Ntilinka, Frye's expiring
Cavs get: Melo, Bledsoe, NYK 2018 1st

I wouldn't mind that.

I don't blame Kyrie at all. He was amazing in the finals and first thing the Cavs tried to do this offseason is trade him and make no mistake they don't do that without talking to Lebron first.

Lebron is gone at the end of the season they still don't have a GM its a mess. I don't blame him for wanting out.

I was very high on Ntilikina before the draft. He comes from a great league in France super lanky a really good defender and just seems to have a feel for the game

Essentially two first round picks for Bledsoe sounds fair to me.

Now if the Suns had been control of the Knicks pick during the draft, it might have looked differently. Dennis Smith might have been attractive to the Suns.
