I BELIEVE...

...in Destiny!

...in 2nd chances!

...And I believe this kid is the absolute "steal" of the draft.

Mark :)

BASK-ING! It's a Cardinal-thing! :)

love the pick. Top 5 talent and the leadership will keep him in line. Now, all the Cards have to do is stay in one story hotels on the road and they're golden.

Cardinals confident Robert Nkemdiche “will fit our culture”

The Cardinals have no such doubts, however. General Manager Steve Keim said that the team spent more time with Nkemdiche than any other prospect and feel like the problems are “in the rear-view mirror.” Coach Bruce Arians said that he believes the only place Nkemdiche will be a “nightmare” is on opposing offensive lines.

“I think the culture of our locker room speaks for itself,” Arians said, via the team’s website. “He will fit our culture.”

What I find to be most encouraging about his off the field issues is that he has acknowledged to root of the problem and taken steps to fix or prevent it. A lot of the guys don't even get to the acknowledgement step.

His family is apparently "toxic" - specifically his brother. When they are together, they get into trouble. Him, his brother, and his mother have all agreed to live in different states at least for a few years while he establishes himself in the NFL and focuses on football. The idea that a family could admit to themselves that they should do that I think is a really positive sign. The Badger had to move away from the bad influences in NO to get past his issues. I hope it works for Diche too.
I like reading this. If he can separate himself from his family and get with some of the veterans on the team and learn how to put in the work and stay focused he could take that next step in his life.

Hey I'll take a penalty or two, Choir boys don't get to the QB in the NFL. The man has a nasty side no doubt, and we need some NASTY added to the d-line. I think that has been missing ever since DD left. I like the pick at 29. There are always reasons why such a talented player is available at the end of the first round.

Never heard of a family that was toxic and had good genes. Let's hope he doesn't get a nickname like KNEE DEEP in training camp.

Reviewing his tape from this year, he was double and triple teamed ALOT. This might help explain his lack of statistical production.

The NFL draft is a fierce mistress. All that time thinking you know who is going to go where, and in the end we all do not know jack.

Robert Nkemdiche is a good pick. Not the one I would go with, but I am not a NFL scout, or part of a front office.

No complaints here because I would have picked Myles Jack, or even Noah Spence, and they would both be risks as well. Thus, no complaints getting a player who has been touted as arguably the best talent in the draft.

Myles Jack
A'Shawn Robinson
Noah Spence
Jarran Reed

are four names that I would have had in front of Nkemdiche, but again, there are no complaints here. Good pick.

LOVE the pick! I expect that he will fall in line and become the next version of Badger in terms of troubled kid turns it around in the Cards system.... He had already met with Matthieu and I have no fear that he will slide back to poor decision-making. His physical skills, speed, strength and all-world athleticism are off the charts and can't be denied. I have no doubt that BASK, along with guys like Badger, Peterson, Fitz, Frostee, Campbell, Palmer and others will ensure NK is on point and on time all the time!!! I also believe A-Dub will play a role here... LOVE this pick!! [emoji106]

There is risk but i really like the pick. Our defense with Chandler Jones and Nkemdiche should really be special.

It's fair to point out the risks, but did it ever occur to anyone that maybe SK and BA thought about that stuff and have a plan in place, like they did when they drafted Mathieu?

My friend and I were talking about this last night and we were both 100% sure they already have a mentoring plan in place and RN is already aware of it. Now, a plan might not work, but I have no doubt this was a very well thought out pick.

Or was Ed talking about the team protecting itself against any future indiscretions? Like maybe the slotted salary but with less guaranteed money?

Crap. Now I have to learn how to spell his name. Or we need to agree on an acronym STAT!

A combination would be my guess. Like how they had some protection written into Mathieu's deal.

Hopefully the Cards are not in "deepkimchee" with this pick :)

I like it but it is a risk. I think this young man could be a real stud for a decade for this team.

I honestly think we won't hear a peep from him when it comes to off field issues. I think what he did in the past is being blown way out of proportion. We will never see any issues from him off the field. Now on the field will be another story. I just hope he puts it all on the field each game and doesn't got missing at times.
