Coaches Son
Four year starter
Team captain
52 career starts

A team captain and four-year starter Boehm (Bay-m) is a hard worker who played guard as a true freshman and then moved to center the next year. He may never develop into a Pro Bowl caliber player but he has the balance, toughness and enough size to develop into a steady starter and he projects as a versatile interior backup offensive lineman at worst so he has a high floor. In addition, there's a lot to like about his durability. While he dealt with an ankle injury last year he played through it and ended up starting 52 consecutive games. April 8, 2016

Mayock says Missouri linemen are coached right and enter league ready to play. Former HS wrestler, so he has balance and leverage. 4 year starter.

I think it's obvious that Keim was the source on this NFL.com player profile quote. Hah.

"SOURCES TELL US "He's tough as nails. He'll play with pain and he's the kind of guy who can command a locker room. I always look for talent first, but leadership might be just as important from your center and he has that." * -- NFC West executive"

I like the pick.

From that article

Sources Tell Us

"He's tough as nails. He'll play with pain and he's the kind of guy who can command a locker room. I always look for talent first, but leadership might be just as important from your center and he has that." * -- NFC West executive NFL Comparison

Corey Linsley Bottom Line

Four*-year starter with outstanding power at the point of attack with an ability to create running lanes through sheer brute force. Boehm’s squatty frame may cause some evaluators to hesitate, but offensive line coaches will fall in love with his instincts, power, leadership and durability. Boehm has a chance to be an early starter for a team looking for power and leadership in the middle of their line.

As far as I'm concerned, we're 3 for 3 and this guy might be a Day 1 starter. Was hoping we'd take him last round.

No doubt! :D

We just got a 10 year starter at a key position in the 4th round. Gotta love this team right now, even with the occasional oddball pick like our 3rd rounder.

We know Keim loves those team captains. I think this is a very solid, meat and potatoes pick. Would not be shocked to see him wind up starting over Shipley.

Good pick. You want intelligent, experienced leaders at center. I wouldn't be surprised if he's starting Week 1.

Jibes with iupati and Mathis pickups. Building tougher, run-oriented line.

from the NFL.com profile:

Owns the A-*gap versus blitzes and stunts.

Rare power from a center. Phone booth champ. Able to consistently generate push at initial point of attack and take control of the neutral zone.

whats not to like?

May be a slight reach by many accounts but I like the pick. It sounds like his potential is a little limited by his frame but still pancakes people.

The reason why I like it is because if they had invested a 1st or 2nd rounder in a center, there is no way cards could keep that whole line in terms of contracts. They have to have 2nd tier solid guys some where on the line, this dude is it.

If Boehm and Hump can earn starting jobs and excel we will have a strong Oline with some youth to build with.

Surprising how quick our Dline and Oline are improving with a good trade and some solid draft picks.

Really big for a center.

Strong at the point of attack but maybe not the best / most mobile player in space. With Sendlein we had a guy who could move but was weak at point of attack.

When what you're doing isn't working, why not try the opposite....
