For those who want to toy with the numbers. Cards have approx. $20mil in space but...

I have a feeling Calais might be a cap casualty unless extended, but BA didn't seem too pleased with is play much of the season.

Floyd is ifffy. They could let him play out and possibly franchise him in 2017, but I'm not sure he's worth the franchise tag.

This team can't afford to cut Campbell. They have nothing behind him, and not enough resources to replace him. They may try to extend him to lower his cap hit, but they have too many holes to just let him go. That being said, the first Green Bay game is the last game I remember him having an impact. He is a very finesse player who can't carry the line without help. He gets held so much because he isn't strong enough to lock linemen out and show the refs they are holding him.

Yeah and I think losing DWilliams also had a big impact on his game too. He was such a big body plugging the middle that teams had to pick who they'd double-team.

Meh...Dan hurt in or rush defense, but he was never a dominant player in the games. Was Gunter as good? No. Would Dan Williams have done anything for our pass rush? No. Either way, Campbell is getting paid like a guy who should be able to crush a side of an offensive line, and he isn't that guy. So, we can either get him help so he can produce, or keep paying him to not make an impact. My guess is that they try and extend him, and find him some help.

I see DWaste is scheduled to take up another $7.5MM of our Cap Dollars in 2016.

Does the league not give us any cap relief for him while he sits in limbo?

Maddening

He'll be released this offseason now that the Cards will get a little bit of cap relief from jettisoning him.

I think Campbell stays, but astute organization usually find a way to get rid of players on the decline of their career. Campbell is hitting the age 30 where defensive line players start to decline rapidly. He isn't going to improve and likely will be declining.
