I can see the Suns going after a player like Derrick Favors in free agency. Although Nick Vonleh has been a slow starter, he might be a trade option. Skal Labissiere might be another. There will probably be a lot of options this summer and at the trade deadline. However, I wouldn't give up prime assets for them.

I don’t about anyone else, but I don’t classify paul George, kyrie, or lilliard as “solid, known commodity” - those are considered stars and would need MUCH more than two later round draft picks.
Yeah. I was not making a specific trade proposal. Any deal would have to have the corresponding assets involved.

Euroleague career-high 33 points (21 shots) for potential #1 pick Luka Doncic in an overtime loss to Olympiacos. Also finished with 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Had the 3-ball and floater game working. Very talented draft but Doncic is the top prospect to me.

29 PTS, 9 AST and 3 TOV for Trae Young. Such an impressive blend of skill, feel and confidence. Will have some hurdles separating and finishing vs NBA length early on but skill base and mental approach are high-level. Big fan of his game.

DWKB first pointed out Trae Young and at the time he played 2 games and looking at his numbers I thought man this kid can't shoot but he is getting Steph Curry comps and if you look at footage of him, a case can be made. He looks like the best PG in the country right now and I would expect barring an injury he will end up in Top 5 of draft.

I doubt it. I don't think he goes before 8 or so.

OK. Back looking at him again. He is fairly fast, but not close to DAaron Fox fast. He is, well, Steve Nash fast.

He is impressive in that he never seems out of control (Fox and Josh Jackson seem that way a lot). He is a bold shooter and a good passer. I would not be disappointed if we came away with him from this draft--especially if we are picking 8-10.

I would be ecstatic if we could get Ayton/Bamba/Bagley with our pick, and Trae with the Miami pick.

Brandon McCoy would be a nice fall back option if PHX can't land one of the Big 3 (Bagley, Ayton or Bamba).

Whoever is coaching him at UNLV is doing a great job, he's much better on offense than he was in HS. Compare the way he's been coached and used at UNLV to when Zimmerman was there(different staff) and it's night and day.

Florida State freshman Ikey Obiagu is already one of CBB's top shot blockers. Has blocked three or more shots in six of his first nine college games. Elite rim protector.

I agree. I would love to get one of these players.

I have been thinking about this. I might like to combine the rest of the picks and trade for a solid, known commodity young vet (under 26) to fill out the roster. The roster needs a little balance in age. We don't want OLD players (over 30), but you really can't build just with 19 year olds.
Yeah, you can only play so many rookies. Our roster couldn't handle all of our draft picks over the coming years so we need to start combining some in trades.

The problem is PHX has drafted a lot of projects and unfinished products the last couple of years even picking high in the draft. You need impact guys which the last real stud drafted was Ben Simmons.

In Arlington watching UTA senior forward Kevin Hervey (#25) practice. The 6-7, long-armed 21-year-old is off to a tremendous start through 9 games: 22.9 PPG, 8.2 RPG, 2.3 APG, 53.4 2P%, 40.6 3P%, 30.9 PER.

Trae Young is the best guard prospect in the draft.

He truly has Curry-esque potential.

Sexton problem is that he is a scorer and neither a shooter or passer. Sexton is a guard like you can find him in most drafts.

Young shoots 10 threes per game at a good clip and gets 9 assists, many which are results of good court vision and not just dragging the defense to himself.

Trae Youngs numbers if he can keep this insane run up are quiet easily on par if not better than Steph Curry's junior season numbers and he has done it so far against a much much much harder schedule.

I don’t prefer one to the other as you seem to. But Sexton is shooting threes at a high clip, has a large physical advantage over young, and an unbelievable will to win. Again, two very different players, but both impressive.

3pt% in college is not a reliable stats. Sexton takes less than 4 3s per game and he has looked shaky from the free throw line.

Trae Young takes 10 3s per game and shoots 87% from the line.

I mean Trae Young scores more, shoots better, more than doubles the assists and almost doubles the steals.

Also Trae Young's favorite player is Steve Nash, one of his role models is Devin Booker and Trae Young this summer was on a private jet with Booker, Williams and Warren to go to Las Vegas to watch summer league and maybe the boxing fight.

Trae Young recently told USA Today that Booker’s success story was the best story he heard during his in-home visits. Here’s what Young had to say about the story.

He told me a story about when they were recruiting Devin Booker it was understood that he was going to be on a three-year plan. He was gonna be there three years and then he was gonna leave for the NBA. His parents knew that and everything. Well, Coach Cal put him through a couple workouts when he got there and called his dad and said, “He’s gone this year. He’s out. He’s not coming back.” It was crazy because Coach Cal said his dad was still saying he planned on being there three years, but Coach Cal said no he was gone. He ended up being a lottery pick and he’s gonna be a franchise player. He just knew after a workout or two. Crazy.

Trae Young has Suns PG written all over him, if I have ever seen the perfect Suns type PG prospect in my life it is clearly Trae Young.

That is Trae Young sitting between Booker and Williams.

Good grief. I remember that! I just didn’t connect the dots. I do know that young shoots from way beyond nba range. His game does not depend on physicality.
