I don't think Young will go before Doncic unless it's Phoenix who selects him. They're the only team that will be in the top 5 that really needs a PG. Atlanta has Schroeder, Dallas just selected Dennis Smith Jr, Memphis has Conley, Orlando has Elfrid Payton, Chicago has a bunch of PG prospects. If Memphis selects before Phoenix though they might take him and look to trade Conley. It makes no sense for them to pay Conley and Gasol while rebuilding, especially when they can add some pieces to their rebuild by trading them off. They'll probably try and attach Chandler Parson's deal to one of them though, Gasol most likely since he has more value.

I'm a huge fan of Young. He's great. I would be THRILLED if Phoenix ends up with him.

However, I'm going on record that drafting him ahead of Luka Doncic would be a mistake.

I think Top 5 goes like this:
Ayton
Bagley III
Doncic
Young
Bamba

I think PHX ends up just outside Top 3 again, Top 3 seems to be our no man's land.

I thought young was as shorter. Looks smaller.

I had a hard time agreeing with 6'2 after the first video I saw of him. I thought for sure he was a shade under 6'0. Draft Combine (if he attends) will give us the truth.

we know the truth, worst case he is 6'1. These high profile highschool kids attend basketball camps and get measured all the time.

And it matters zero. Chris Paul is 6'0 or 5'11.

Chris Paul is also a pretty dynamic athlete.

And we don’t know the “worst case.”

The above is wishful thinking. None of those teams would pass up the best PG in the draft because of what they already have, except maybe Memphis because of Conley although I can see them shipping Conley because it’s onviouzly time for. Rebuild.

I don’t think the mavs would take a pg. they just took Smith and he’s playing well.

@Ronin

The floater is what sold me on Young. It shows whatever the defense takes away, he can adapt.

First time watching young live, unbelievable 25 and 10 at half!

I think he'll clearly be a contender to go top 5, maybe higher.

At least that makes 6 impact players instead of 5 , so a top 6 instead of top 5 is what suns need

That was my reaction watching him for the first time last Sat.

He is BLOWING doors off opppaing defenses. I see so much Curry in him.

They were talking about Young as the #1 pick now. When we first started talking about him we thought he would be great with the Miami pick. Now we might have a hard time getting him with our pick.

He is the player I want most out of this draft. Yes, even over Doncic. I can just see Young and Booker as the perfect combo. Doncic and Booker are very similar players.

And like Curry, Young will make everyone better around him.

Indeed, Young and Booker would be dynamite.

The best thing about the emergence of young and Sexton is that it makes more impact players in a season where it seems we are destined to win more games than is in our best interest. If increases the big 5 to 6 or 7 then great additional wiggle room for us.

Agreed. Who would think the Suns would be winning games with Booker out.

It certainly is a benefit. At the beginning of this season, Young was in the second round in lots of mocks. Now he might go #1. Wow. But the kid is just incredibly good.

I guess Booker and Sauce knew it. They were hanging with him in Vegas last summer. They probably played against one another in AAU games.

My ONLY fear with that backcourt would be defensively. But offensively, they'd be flat out disgusting good.

Another big game for Illinois State's Milik Yarbrough with 28 PTS on 14 shots against Evansville. The 6-6 wing has now scored at least 20 PTS in 5 of his last 6 games. Averaging 23 PTS, 7 REBS & 4.7 AST during that stretch. Broke down his game + backstory:

Just play defense at the rim and then dare other teams to outshoot Booker and Young from the three.
