Please god don't draft another guard or wing that can't shoot. Maybe a super talented big but everybody else needs to be able to shoot.

There is no place in the modern NBA for a wing that can't shoot.

Sexton at halftime has 15 points on 6-10 shooting. His teammates on the other hand 3 of 22. Can only imagine how good he might be if playing with a better supporting cast.

Edit: He ended up shooting 9-16 for 23 points. His team ended up shooting just 8-41 and scored another 23 points. That has to be some of the most inept shooting from a supporting cast I have ever seen...

Will be interesting to see how Trae Young matches up against Jevon Carter and West Virginia. Oklahoma on a 10-game winning steak. West Virginia on a 13-game winning streak. Carter is a senior and an NBA pg prospect known for his defense.

West Virginia has been giving Young the "Devin Booker" treatment, applying all pressure on him and forcing the rest of Oklahoma to make them pay. So far, Carter is winning the matchup. Will be interesting to see how Young responds. He hasn't been bad, but he hasn't been himself either. Seven points and three assists, 2-7 shooting and three turnovers for Young with four minutes to go in the half.

At the half...

Trae Young 3/11, 9 points, 3 assists, 4 TOs

Jevon Carter 14 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 TO and fantastic defense

Good learning experience for Young, and a star-making game for Carter.

I haven’t gotten much of a chance to watch Trae young. And I WANT him to be great because it’s one more player that we could take as we anti-tank. But man I watch him and I see a balding dude with crazy old-man hair who plays considerably below the rim and seemingly outta control. I fully admit that I’ve watched limited play of his in prior games and this seems to be his worst play of the season in the first half today.

1. He definitely has crazy old-man hair.

2. I've watched a decent amount of him and this is definitely the most he has struggled (in the games I've seen), which makes sense because Carter and West Virginia are an elite defense.

3. He's only out of control in the same way Curry sometimes is. He's definitely been a great decision-maker over the course of the season.

4. I think it speaks to how good he is that he has struggled, played poorly at times this game, and yet has 19 points with 13 minutes to go.

5. It hasn't been an efficient 19 points by any means, but they are right there with the #7 team in the country and Carter now has 4 fouls. And it's not like Oklahoma is stacked. They were awful last year.

Young's lack of athleticism is what sticks out tonight. I haven't watched him live before.

Right now he reminds me of Tyler Ennis.

To be fair, anyone is going to look bad playing one of their worst games. Ennis averaged 12.9 at Syracuse. Young's lowest-scoring game was 15, and that was the first game of the season.

WVU has been playing Young like the Spurs played Booker.

If we can talk him down, then maybe the Suns can draft him.

I do like his passing and scoring skills.

Alright, now he has been upgraded to Nash-like. :p

Hahaha! As someone who has been watching Booker all season, I think it's worth noting that, even on nights where Young turns the ball over and lacks efficiency, he is the main reason they are competitive.

Oklahoma was 11-20 last year.

Also thanks for the heads-up about the game. If you hadn't started talking about Young, I would have missed it.

Not sure who I like most out of Ayton-Doncic-Bagley-Young-Bamba, but I do know I really, really want one of them on the Suns.

Surely it’s a guard we want, either of Doncic or young...we’re set at the 2,3 and potentially 4 and 5 and it’s the 1 we’re glaringly short at.

Doncic and Booker as the two point guards Dragic and Bledsoe could have been, just with an extra few inches and ability.

(I just checked the latters’ assists; dragic at 4.8 for the season, Bledsoe at a putrid 4.2 ... tell me Doncic and Booker wouldn’t do better than that..)

Would be thrilled with either guard, but Ayton and Bagley are really, really good.

And I have irrational love for Bamba as a prospect.

I too have a mad crush for ayton, doncic, bagley, and strangely bamba (due to his uniquity). And I’m curious about young and Sexton. Watch porter be the best of all of them.

I kind of feel like big men are overrated these days .. none of the tops teams revolver around one and the one team with two of them; NOP, isn’t doing much.

There’s a dearth of great big men in the league right now. Even AD and cousins aren’t what I’d call dominant in the traditional sense. And KAT is still young. Bagley and Ayton would give a team an unusual presence in the L these days. And with Booker it would give some inside-outside balance most teams don’t possess today. Add a nice pg with good shooting range and we’re in business as our other youngins grow.
