So, as of right now, we have Drew Stanton starting for us in 2018.

Stanton is not under contract for 2018. But neither are Bortles, Bridgewater, Cousins, Stafford, Bradford, Garoppolo, McCarron, or Brees. And Palmer WILL still be under contract. So, no need to panic... between the draft and free agents, the Cardinals will not be without options a lot better than Stanton.

As much as I'd love to see Stafford here, 2 things that make this not an option. #1, I don't see Detroit letting him walk and #2, we're going to have to overpay to get him. Bortles isn't going anywhere either. Bridgewater is an enigma based on how he bounces back from an injury that some consider career threatening. Cousins and Bradford stink. Brees is a year older than Palmer. That leaves Garoppolo and McCarron and neither of which cause me to get excited about. And I don't see Palmer playing next year considering he considered retiring after last season. Am I panicking? No. But it would be nice to have some kind of plan going forward.
