The kid shows great promise. Is super slithery, nice size at 6’3, has hops, can change speeds, looks like he is developing a strong handle and a more reliable jump shot, and has good vision for setting up others.

Of course his competition is questionable compared to other prospects, but I believe the same could’ve been said for guys like Damien lilliard (Weber state), Chris McCollum (Lehigh), steph (Davidson), Paul George (Fresno state), Millsap (Louisiana tech), Jeremy Lin (Harvard), Gordon Hayward (Butler), Kawhi (SDSU), Faried (Morehead st). Wouldn’t sleep on him just bc small school kid.

Lots of turnovers in that game...but he was easily the best player on the court against Alabama this year.

I rarely get annoyed by takes on here (it's a message board, so what do I expect?), but the Ja Morant-Isaiah Canaan comparison is slowly killing me.

He compares every pg he doesn't like to Isiah Canaan. It's not a serious comparison - it's just his way of adding emphasis that he does not want the player.

I get that. Still kills me. I think it's because I really like Morant, because he plays for the same school, and because his game is so different from Canaan's.

Also, he's one of the realistic options with upside for the Suns at this point. Kemba was my favorite target last season, and now that seems like a pipe dream. Then, I really liked Dinwiddie. He's no longer realistic. The Lillards of the world don't become available and the free agents all have some pretty big warts.

Getting a top young point guard through the draft and pairing him with a Collison type is still one of our best options, and Morant is the best pg in this draft imho.

Than ignore him like 75% of this board is already doing. ;)

You must hang out in the wrong places, nobody I've seen would ever make such an absurd comparison.

Look at the college numbers, accolades, results and highlights of both, and then tell me that the comparison is so absurd. Remember that Canaan was a second-team All American coming out of Murray St.

Cool story. Now look at their actual style of play and tell me that there is any real comparison there. We can look at accolades and numbers until we are all blue in the face, but it won't change the fact that they are two entirely different players from a physical standpoint.

I like Williamson a lot. I am intrigued with Bol Bol if we end up picking 5 or so. The kids body looks awkward, but he actually moves well. He has a handle and a great shot even at the three point line. He is a competitor and does not get flustered against other tall players. I think he could play with Ayton since their games are different. Here are his highlights against another 7-2 player.

I watch the vid on this guy and I just don't get the hype.
He is skilled and quite athletic, but I am not sold that he will be a good NBA PG. Especially considering he is playing for a small school he will have to show me more before I will be sold.

John Shumate scouted the number 1 ranked Kansas versus ASU game tonight for the Suns in Tempe.

He had a pretty good game against #7 Auburn today but I know what you mean. He is really skinny and not that tall like the bigger lankier pgs that are starting to get popular in the NBA

The likelihood of us getting the top pick is going to be very small. The likelihood of getting a top 5 pick is very high. Of course Zion would be interesting. I am just wondering if Cam Reddish could play guard along side Booker. He is shooting OK. Extremely athletic, great defender, great passer.

Reddish will be a tremendous disappointment imo.

Yeah, I'm not a Reddish fan either but I can't help but think he's in the wrong place. Or with the wrong teammate at least. I certainly wouldn't want to play with Barrett.

If we really only like Zion in this draft, then our pick should be up for trade at some point. We need a player that works. We already have enough youngsters.

That's how I see it as well. Jones has also made some comments that lead me to believe he agrees. I honestly don't want any more rookies. They are fine at SG, SF, small ball PF, and C. Just give me a damn point guard at this point. I'd dangle that pick in front of New Orleans and see how much they value Holiday. Best defensive PG in the league, good shooter, good facilitator. I wonder if the Hornets can sign and trade Walker this summer? He might be another target, though Holiday remains my first choice. Perhaps the Nets might be persuaded to part with Dinwiddie in exchange for a pick, though I'd probably want something else in return.

Disclaimer:
I haven't thought any of these scenarios through except for the Holiday one, so I am just throwing ideas out there.
