This seems a quite logical summary why most of teams with cap space will NOT go after Oubre.

It makes a lot of sense, why would these teams with gobs of cap space blow more than 15M on Oubre when they still need a star/superstar player. That would end all chances of them getting a top tier FA.

The Lakers are trading Mo Wagner, Isaac Bonga and Jemerrio Jones to Wizards as part of the Anthony Davis deal with New Orleans, league sources tell ⁦‪@ZachLowe_NBA‬⁩ and me. Deal clears contracts and creates more cap space for free agency.

It was said when the deal was first announced, that the Lakers would try and modify or add to the deal to either get another player or clear more cap space. It was assumed the deal was not done as rumored.
