Braves take D-backs: Braden Shewmake, SS, Texas A&M, one that was linked to the Dbacks at 33
It would be a good pick if we are able to sign him (his signability is what is causing him to drop).Matthew Allan maybe there pick?
I agree. If you're going to gamble, young left handed pitchers are definitely the players to gamble on.Interesting pick I like tall lefties pitchers
North Carolina high school picture Blake Walston is the pic
Not really. Signability is a big question, but regardless of that, he was probably the top left handed pitcher that was still available. Left hand pitchers are always going to be a hot commodity. Chances are the Brewers grab him before the DBacks get to pick again. He was a slight reach, but if they like him it’s better to grab him when you can than get cute and try to hope he falls to 33.Major reach.

Brennan Malone (HS rhp) at 33. Really good pick.
That’s because he is also a two sport athlete who didn’t play on the circuit in the offseason because he was playing football. Lots of experts expected him to go in the first round. Sometimes you have to do more than look at the little number beside their name.Wasn't even a Top 50 draft prospect.

Us, and everybody else. Allan’s signability is a huge question mark.Meanwhile, I am shocked we passed on Matthew Allan three times.
The kid is only 17 and was arguably the top Left Handed High School Pitcher in the draft. He is exactly the type of player that you gamble on when you have 4 first round picks. He doesn't have a single plus pitch.

Not even close. Just look at the draft. Allan is a stud but no one wants to touch him. There is a reason for that. With that being said, I would totally take him with one of out next picks for the same reason I like the Walston pick. Sometimes you have to swing for the fences and take chances. Especially when you have as many picks as we do.So is Carroll's, and yet we took him.
Another power pitcher. Looks like he has future closer potential.Dbacks pick Oregon P Ryne Nelson at 56
