Look forward to all of the finger pointing tomorrow on talk radio. Blame will be passed around like Thanksgiving dinner.

It's the smart thing to do. That allows him to focus more on his recovery than anything else. He knows the sort of care and treatment he'll receive by those associated with the Warriors franchise and that's got to be reassuring.

I know some might say that they're same people who pushed him out there today but Durant wasn't going to play unless he felt he was ready to play. I really can't see the Warriors forcing him to play.
As fully evidenced by his pregame routine in the tunnel that might.

They need to lower max deals in that case. I mean the Suns are nearly over the cap with a 19 win team.

The Super Max has created an odd situation where it seems like every player pretty good player that doesn't qualify automatically expects the normal max. Prior to the SM, that just didn't happen.

It’s already being reported he is opting in. FWIW, Dubs are still giving Klay the Max and Lacob is already on record stating they are willing to print money and pay whatever it takes if they believe team can continue to play for titles.
Where did you see it reported that he is opting in?

You know damn well if it was the Suns and KD went down we would all be saying yes! and pumping your fist. Does it suck? Of course it does. But to take the moral high ground and say that Toronto fans are trash is lame. 90% of any teams fans are going to have the same reaction . He's a millionaire x10 will be x10 again and has championships. He will be just fine

I think 90% is a little high, I'd say 50%, but I get what you're saying. Maybe because it's KD specifically that the hate is amped up. This is the guy who was nicknamed cupcake and has been called a snake for the last 3 years. If Curry went down, or Klay, the reaction would be much different. I don't see a lot of Suns fans calling out Toronto fans though, it's mainly the 2 resident Warrior fans here doing so with others making a comment about it and moving on.

People would crucify me.....I used to want Kobe to break his leg Every time he played us. I did feel some compassion when he tore his Achilles only because after so many years of him killing us and us getting him a few times you learn to respect. But I still was happy he was gone and we wouldn't worry about him lol

Yeah. I know it was just a small group of fans (that actually knew what they were doing) but it's a moment that will be difficult to live down.
Just like the whole Toronto crowd wasn't cheering Durant's injury. To the Toronto players' credit, they told the crowd to knock it off.

Even from the wide shots in the arena and the "Jurassic park" shots, it's a minority, a vocal minority, but still a minority. And I think it should be obvious that a scum bag 10-20% who are cheering will drown out the silence of a completely silent majority. Honestly... what other sound do you expect to hear? It's an arena filled with 20,000 people, the vast majority could be in stunned silence and the few scumbags in the crowd would obviously be the only ones heard.

And... furthermore, the Warriors fan base can climb down from the cross, they've employed some of the dirtiest players in the league. Green gets techs as often as he kicks people in the balls and Zaza was nothing more than a hit man.

Every fan base has terrible moments. Sadly the jerks are going to make the rest of the fans answer for it. I hope they get the chance to make up for it in game 7 or in KD’s next return, which is usually what happens in these scenarios. It doesn’t erase anything but at least gives some perspective. Saying it’s the whole country, especially when most Canadians don’t even identify with Toronto, is a little much.

I was hoping it was blocked in real time because it hit the basket support. I haven’t seen any up close replays but there is a shot on Twitter that looks like Dray got a piece of it. They say reach is important...

I'm almost positve he blocked it he even holds his hand up after like I got that and teammates immediately go to him like he blocked it

It appears Draymond did block it. He got a finger on it, at least. You can see his middle finger bent back some because of the contact with the ball and the little shade that there is as well.

A kid at work and I were talking about it he played Juco basketball. We were both talking about how much better NBA athletes are that play looks like a wide open 3 and ends up with a deflected shot. Lowry released it too slow but that's what makes the 3's by Curry and Klay at the end so amazing. The amount of space and time they had to get those shots off and hit them was miniscule.

Not to knock Lowry good player but if Steph Curry could play just one game where people guard him the way they guard Lowry, he might get 60 or more points. Open 3's for Curry are far less open than they are for Lowry and most mortal guards in the NBA.

I love that he did it while perfectly framing Warriors owner Joe Lacob in the shot.

The last game is starting to evolve from the KD injury game into The Time Out! Nick Nurse called a time out when Kawhi Leonard was killing Golden State and had them on the ropes. After the time out the Warriors hit two threes and figured out how to double Leonard. They squeek the game out. The thinking is from a couple ex-NBA players I saw on ESPN, is that Toronto was crushing Golden State, and they thought Toronto needed to make Golden State call the time out to stop the beating. Plus I think Golden State was down to their last time out. It would force a faster ending to the game. Nick Nurse supposedly said he saw he had three time outs left and thought he would use them.

The National Media is downplaying and excusing Raptors fans (and it was HALF THE STADIUM) by saying "some fans" were cheering the KD injury. No, it was THOUSANDS of fans in the arena. To make it worse, they knew KD went down with not contact and their first reaction was to cheer and waive goodbye to him. He sat on the court a full minute before motioning to team he needed assistance. So did the crowd reflect on their supposed visceral reaction during that time? No, they ERUPTED when KD was helped up and his leg buckled. It was so bad their own team had to tell them WTF? Then watch the video of Your Classless Park and a local bar and you see the same reaction of elation and faux goodbye waives.

Screw America's Hat fans...
