I like Quinnen Williams and won't throw a fit if we draft him (unlike Murray), but at the end of the day I just don't feel like DE in a 3-4 is a game-changing position with the #1 overall pick.I guess I'm way in the minority, but I'm more impressed with Williams than Bosa.
If we don't draft Murray, I hope we draft Williams instead.
A number of NFL prospects were able to boost their draft stock over the weekend with impressive performances at the Scouting Combine, but Florida defensive end Jachai Polite was not one of them. In fact, it sounds like it could not have gone much worse for him.
Polite, who was at one point considered a first-round talent, underwhelmed with his workouts and apparently did even more poorly in his interviews with teams. Already an undersized edge rusher, Polite ran the 40-yard dash in a sluggish 4.84 seconds. Matt Miller of Bleacher Report was then told by multiple scouts that Polite interviewed horribly and was believed to be faking an injury.
“Just landed back home, opened my phone and had 5 texts from scouts about how bad Jachai Polite interviewed. On top of bad workouts (one called his injury “********”), his stock is taking a massive tumble,” Miller wrote in a tweet.
He is a mess IMO. Great athlete who struggles to understand football. He is the guy who blows by the offensive lineman, and then doesn't actually hit anyone when he is in the opposing backfield. He is a late first round guy for me.What do you think of Rashan Gary? I love the idea of him as a 5 tech.
Good analysis. Remember the guy Cards drafted a few years ago in the 2rd round who had the same problem as a LB. Kevin Minter? He is a mess IMO. Great athlete who struggles to understand football. A little like Reddick IMO.Good analysis. Remember the guy Cards drafted a few years ago in the 2rd round who had the same problem as a LB. Kevin Minter?

My favorite part of the Combine, Rich Eisen running the 40 and this time in Simulcam with Combine invites:

LOL...I will catch heat for this again but Minter had more tackles, TFL, and sacks then Devin White in final year at LSU.

D.K. Metcalf ran the fastest 40-yard dash at the #NFLCombine by a player to weigh 225+ pounds since official data was tracked in 2003
But...
He ran a 3-cone drill (7.38) slower than 208 quarterbacks and 39 players to weigh 300+ pounds over that span
I keep thinking of him as the next Darrius Heyward-Bay.So he is a very questionable prospect outside of the "go" route. Wonder how much that will hurt his draft stock.
A bunch of mocks have us grabbing Lindstrom at #66, but I agree that (barring a trade) we might have to use our #33 to get him. Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll fall to us at #66.Chris Lindstrom had an amazing workout.
Strong and quick and doesn't have unnecessary bulk. He's a battler who is VERY technically sound.
Draft him and he fixes one guard spot for the next decade.
#1 Bosa
#2 Lindstrom
