That made me think of how Cam Johnson replaced his agent this summer. He hired Booker's dad as his new agent. That is who Ayton should have gone with. Genius move on Cam J's part. I bet his deal is wrapped up quick next offseason. There's no agent the Suns would want to please more than Booker's father.

There’s a quote by JJ that’s says something like

“we didn’t have real negotiations”

I don’t have access to read the full article. It it went like this…the agent told the suns Full Max or don’t even talk to us.

Then the agent leaks that a deal isn’t done to try and get things signed. Suns are still quiet about this.

Reading the Ayton Plan thread, my assumptions were correct. Eh the guys isnt worth the max.

That's odd. Probably a case of the initial deal having a guaranteed date they didn't want to hit.

You'd think they'd do something to allow amending contracts to avoid situations like that.

I wouldn't have minded if the Suns took a look at him, and hoped they would.

Either it was a gentleman's agreement, or there was a reason he passed waivers...

I remember you mentioning it.

If Marvin Bagley ever gets on the right team and stays healthy I think he could be good.

Lakers are not impressive.

lebron is just a jump shooter on offense at this point.

GS doesn’t look very good either.

Boy I hope the Lakers are as awful as they look tonight for the rest of the season. That would be glorious.

Russ does not fit.

they are just taking turns isoing Lebron and AD.

it’s not going to work. Most overhyped team I have ever seen.

good thing is I am going to make a bunch of money betting against them.

None of them fit.

Lebron clearly has lost a step and you expect that to happen for a guy in his 17/18 year I think. He’s a jump shooter now

It’s just a bunch of old guys who don’t play defense.

LeBron and AD are good enough that they Lakers will win more than they lose, but I agree, that roster is a mess. Neither Westbrook or LeBron are off the ball players and Westbrook is a baaaaad shooter. Combine that with a punch of paint clogging bigs... they're going to go through some brutal stretches on offense, mix in that they have some real doormat defenders... it's going to be a bumpy ride in LA.

I wonder where Westbrook will be next year.

Ayton is the only above average starting center in that entire group. Many of these are guys I had pegged as a potential back-up to Ayton, or even a back-up to his back-up (or in the case of Ibaka, who is a PF, as Crowder's back-up).

Two of the bigger Warrior runs were because Westbrook came in the Warriors went zone and Westbrook couldn't make them pay with open jumpers. -23 when he was on the floor. In a game where Curry was locked up, couldn't get open shots had at least 4 blocked at the rim, that the lakers couldn't win is not a great sign. They are a very good defensive team, size inside rim protection but man they need some shooters.

Bjelica was great for the Warriors +20 in limited minutes he's huge on offense he spreads the court and excellent passer. Has some David Lee to his game and a bit of a smaller Bogut too very good passer. When Wiseman gets back so they have more size will be interesting to see what happens to Looney, love the guy but he just hasn't taken the next step offensively it's very hard to have him and Draymond on the floor together when they won't shoot anything but a layup.

Zion weighs 285 in playing shape 15lbs in the off season isn't that bad, and he had more time off than some :p
Man I miss prime Shawn Kemp flying around.

I still stand by what I said. He could be all muscle, but the bones and ligaments have to withstand the abuse. Collision course.

Shawn Kemp helped make me an NBA fan and not just a Suns fan way back when. Kind of sad we're never likely to see a Kemp like player have a complete career. Kemp got fat during the lockout in the 90's. Amare was similar, perhaps an angrier version of Kemp until his knees gave out. Zion is a more compact version but it seems he doesn't need a work stoppage for his weight to get out of control, causing his whole body to break down.

I can't fully blame New Orleans for taking him #1 though. Morant has been better than most expected, but still looked like he'd be a really good PG. If New Orleans hadn't taken Zion then Memphis would have and you really can't blame them considering his upside is off the charts, especially at #2, which is often a consolation prize.

I think everyone on the forum (that I can remember) wanted Zion and Morant #1 and #2 respectively. Wish the Suns had landed #2 in that draft.
