You cannot win with players that cannot shoot even a 15 foot jumper.

They are exposed in the playoffs and are a liability. Combine that with his horrible attitude, and Morey should be begging anyone offering any value to take that horrible contract off his hands.

If you value culture at all - and you should if you want to win - you can't have Simmons on your team until his attitude has changed.
You're not really saying anything I haven't already said except in this case, you're ignoring that regular season success might actually mean something to the Kings.

With Simmons, Thybulle and even Harris, they are almost a lock to make a few postseasons. Sure, with Ben they will be one and done but again, they'll be in the postseason for the first time in 15 years. And having said that, I'm still not sure I'd do it but value wise it makes a lot of sense for them.

Some of the fan voting for All-Stars makes it seem like a popularity contest or name recognition.

Yeah, that's all it's been for decades now. I've always been in favor of changing it to a committee made up of media, former players and former coaches.

Also having some criteria for those who are eligible for All-Star voting like games played would help.

Lonzo Ball will get arthroscopic surgery on left knee and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.

Dan Majerle was voted in as a starter to the 1995 All-Star game... as a 6th man. Why? Because we were the most popular team in the league at that point.

All-Star game has ALWAYS been a popularity contest. And I bet no one in Phoenix was complaining about that back when Majerle made it. And I bet if our guys were getting on their popularity now, you wouldn’t complain about that either.

Yeah, fans are going to do that but Westbrook? Also I think there should be a minimum number of games played.

If the Kings do that trade their best 3pt shooter is Tobias Harris at 31%. An offense with Fox/Simmons without elite shooting is a mess.

We had a losing culture until a couple years ago, the Kings culture has been even worse and for much longer.

But I never heard the CP3 comparison before and it surprises me that it was ever made. Fox has always been able to get his own but Paul's turnover to assist ratio is a big part of what makes him so special - Fox is at the other end of the spectrum in that regard.
I don’t think it was a comp to cp3, but rather to book before cp3 joined the suns.

The Warriors are actively running commercials during games telling fans to vote for Warriors players including Klay. I love the guy but he's played what 5 games?

Just ridiculous.

I guess fans are going to be fans.

Yeah but Harris shot almost 40% from 3 last season and his current 31% looks like an anomaly. They'd be elite defensively and challenged offensively. That's a big improvement over what they've been for years now. I wouldn't recommend a trade like this to a franchise that isn't desperate but the Kings really should be in desperation mode. It's not like it's costing them very much, just a slightly above average guard and 2 first round picks.

I went to the heat/blazers game last night and it was pretty funny to see Jimmy butler get tossed!

I thought it was pretty funny that the Heat announcers were surprised Jimmy to tossed. Dude caveman screamed right in a refs face after getting a call in his favor, that has to be an instant ejection.

Payton 2 dunks on the head of Bitadze(sp). GP2 stares at him while scratching his head, doesn't say a word. Bitadze come over, puts his head on Payton's head and then semi head butts him, not hard at all. He gets ejected they gave GP2 a tech too for the look.

How the hell do the refs miss that ball clearly being off Klay? That’s ridiculous.

Steve Kerr and JTA and Curry blew it. 3 point lead Pacers inbounds, JTA goes for steal, doesn't foul Jackson. Curry turns his head they pass to Curry's man, Justin Holiday who rails a game tying 3 to put it into OT. Just foul Jackson and the game is likely over.

Curry also missed an open 3 late that would have tied it in OT, he had a great game, Klay couldn't buy a 3, but missed a couple of huge ones late.

Brutal loss

So far this is the best view I can find of the payton dunk and the T. He deserved the T for the staredown I can't believe the Pacers guy did what he did. Wasn't a "real" headbutt but still he's going to get a fine for that for sure.

I can't believe Gary Payton II wasn't ejected for taunting (stare down and scratching his head). This initiated the encounter. That was barely a head tap by Bitadze. It was like he was acknowledging the stuff Payton was dishing out with a stare of his own.

Keifer Sykes hit a couple of clutch shots in that game looking at the replay.

He didn't get ejected because he didn't say anything. I completely agreed with the T because he stared at the guy but he didn't even make a "mean mug" face or anything he just looked at the guy. The head scratch part was obvious, you're 10 inches taller than me how did that happen so that's why he got the T. The ejection was obvious you can't walk up to another player and go head to head like that. I would have been very surprised if Payton got ejected there didn't say anything, didn't make any gestures. the stare is worth a T that's all.

Sykes was actually huge down the stretch. Said it pre draft repeat it now them taking Chris Duarte one pick before us so we had to take Moses Moody was a crusher for me. The Warriors loved Duarte, they were talking about it on the telecast last night that he was the guy they were going to pick until the Pacers grabbed him, having a very good rookie year and was huge last night.

That was the first game where you could see clear rust with Klay Thompson his legs just weren't there all his shots were short many of them very short and he had no lift going to the rim. They've been careful with his minutes and rest but you could see last night he had no legs, most of his points were layups off movement, but he could not guard Duarte.

I realize the difference may be the touching but there were two actions on Payton's part (stare and head scratch) that iniated the incident. Actions can be worse than words if Bitadze said anything.

Payton wanted something to happen... he got it. The offender shouldn't benefit from negative behavior, Bitadze getting tossed.
