Word out of New York is so far the only team showing ANY interest in Kyrie is the Lakers. Nobody else wants to touch Kyrie.

Kyrie just opted in with the Nets per radio.

So they gotta trade him, right? They want no part of him.
There were no trade partners per Kyrie's team. Nobody is trading for Kyrie and his 37 million dollar contract. It would have to be the Knicks from what I read or nothing.

A trade to the Knicks is exactly what this universe needs. Kyrie and the Knicks were made for each other.

The only players they could trade him for are John Wall or Russell Westbrook. Beyond those guys It's possible another team would want the expiring contract, but they won't get any value for him.

Like anybody with a brain knew he would

Yeah he’s gonna give up 31 million for the privilege of missing the playoffs with the Lakers.

Anyone with a brain knew he should opt in but not necessarily that he would. Kyrie openly thinks the earth is flat, nothing he says or does would be all that surprising so you can't really predict what he'll do.

I wouldn't be surprised if he demanded a trade to the Raptors because he doesn't want to be paid in US dollars.

It'll be interesting to see if Wall has anything left in the tank.

He's only 31 but he missed last season entirely, played 40 games in 20-21 and missed the 19-20 season entirely as well.

He'll probably be ok for the Clippers since they have a lot of weapons and he can focus on being a facilitator. I would be surprised if he has any of the speed or explosiveness that made him a quality scorer before but the Clippers have Reggie Jackson for that.

Hopefully he's worked on his outside shot because he's a career 32% 3pt shooter. I can see him being a better version of Rubio if he buys in and knows his limitations but he'll need a better outside shot to be more than that.

This seems like a gimme for Russell Westbrook to exercise $47.1 million option.
