I think Arias is the next man to get cut when a waiver claim processes or the Cardinals sign a FA who was cut.
Looking at the cut lists from around the league, maybe.

I wouldn't get comfortable if I was Emari. i think they could easily add a better RB.

Arias is fringe but I don't really see "better" WRs available and he was used on special teams.

Whiteheart is probably a fringe guy for a player at another position.

Our DL spot might seem some churn.

Matthew and Boyd seem fringe at CB as well.

Whiteheart might stick around until Ertz gets up to speed. He seemed to catch everything in PS.

I want I impressed by Emari at all. I'd wager there are 5-6 guys that are easily better.

He's toolsy and a nice developmental guy, but I don't think he has a shot at being on a game day roster, especially with 5 other receivers.

Honestly, with a tanky roster like this, I'd rather go with Whiteheart over Swain.

Stille is a bit of a surprise that he stuck.

I'd go with Matthew over Boyd even though Boyd is a plus special teamer.

I would keep Swain if at all possible. The dude is a beast of a blocker.

Thought Williams looked good at RB. I am really surprised one of him or Clement didn’t make it. Wanted one of the Davis’s to make it as well at WR. Thought one of Howerton or Smith would make it on the OL. Matthew is a surprise to me as I thought he was awful in preseason games. Was pulling for McCloud to make it as well.

Aaron Brewer will be back. They did this with him last year.

With Gaines down might see up to 4 claims now. This you guys covered all the players like Stille, Dimukeje and Matthew who shouldn't be extending their leases yet.

Since being drafted by the Steelers in the fourth round of the 2017 draft, Dobbs has played eight games, started two with an 0-2 record and attempted 85 career passes with a completion percentage of 58.8.

Blough was originally an undrafted free agent in Cleveland in 2019 and has played nine games, started seven with an 0-7 record and attempted 242 passes with a 57.0 completion percentage.

Driskel has played 23 games, started 11 with a 1-10 record and attempted 365 passes with a completion percentage of 59.2.

These three have a combined record of 1-19

And the FO thought they were worth bringing in?

Oof

I agree, the problem is people are overestimating the quality of the guys that will hit waivers.

The guys getting cut are no better than these guys, and at least the guys you have are known quantities. And the better guys that might hit have to get past the Bears and Texans first.

There are some Eagles possibles. One of Devon Allen and Brittain Covey will get cut. Both are good ST guys. Kentavius Street might not make it on the roster and would be an upgrade for us. Two of Eli Ricks, Mario Goodrich and Makhi Garner probably don't make it either at CB.

Some of these defensive guys would be my bet, although not all of them have Gannon ties and guys like Street are vested.
No better?? C'mon Brit. I can't rock with you there. The simple fact that we have the worst roster arguably from top to bottom in the league, makes guys who might be expendable for other teams, better for the most part than what we have. Some starters, and even former pro bowlers (not that that's worth a WHOLE lot) will have been shown the door. I'm not saying bring them all in, because there's something to be said for having went through a full training camp, and 3 preseason games for those that have made this 53, but if the object is to resemble an NFL team this season, without question, there are at least 3 to 4 guys that will represent an upgrade over what we'll be trotting out there.

I think the belief was Kyler would be able to play at least 10 to 12 games. Spending much capital on a backup as a bad team doesn't seem to wise to me.

Realistically the odds any backup is going to become a better player than Kyler is extremely slim.

I would hope for more than that.

Our corners, D line, and Oline depth suck.

Starters and former pro bowlers that get cut are almost certainly vested vets that don't hit waivers.

The only players that hit waivers are unvested. 99% of which are guys on their 6th training camp that never played a snap or were UDA or late round rookies in the past draft.

The best guys you normally get on waivers are guys like a year 3 RB who's averaged 30 carries and 110 yards in his time in the league.

No they did. Brewer was a FA last off season and they resigned him to a two year deal right before the season once he was all healed up from his broken leg. This year he was cut with $250k in dead money. No the same, so not a lock to be back.

They did exactly the same thing.

They gave Brewer a 1 year deal on March 12th. They cut him in the final round of cuts to 53 then brought him back a few days later. You can read all about it here.

He's a long snapper on vet min who's been perfectly serviceable. I don't see them wasting their time looking for a new LS that's going to screw up Prater 10 days before the season starts. But you never know.

And nary a starter amongst them :( Let's hope Ojulari shakes the rust off quickly and Cam gets at it.
I am actually fairly happy with this group. There isn't any top end talent, but a lot of guys who are or could be above replacement level. And there is always a chance a player like Shaq Barrett breaks out a couple years in.

A lot of hope/trust. It's hard to hope and trust for me right now. We don't have any "this guy's going to be a solid pass rusher" guys that pop for me.

Yeah, but it is hope and trust in what I think of those players and not what the Cardinals think of them. It's kinda like my opinions on Marquise Hayes. I like him and believe in him as a prospect, and it has nothing to do with the Cardinals feelings.
