Another tweet from Shams Charania.

And the Lakers only gave up one first round pick.

Luka must be toxic and he and Kyrie must also hate each other.

And the Mavs must value AD about 10 fold what most would peg him at.

LA could flip him for 6 picks tomorrow.

I'm no Luka fan, I think he is so horrendous on defense that it's a serious problem, and his conditioning sucks, but even so, ONE pick and a 31 year old center who doesn't want to play center and is always hurt?

Davis and LeBum have been clashing too.

The Lakers stole a 25 year old Luka Doncic. No other way to put it.

I don’t understand Dallas.

Luka has to be beyond toxic. And I still think they could’ve gotten a better deal.

I can't make sense of it. Maybe his injury is a lot worse than they've let on?

The Lakers won the value side of this trade by a mile but I think he's going to be a terrible fit with that roster (especially without AD). Who is going to defend? And on offense, Reeves, LeBron, they're both guys that want to dribble a lot, run picks and play off screens, Luka does nothing when the ball isn't in his hands.

Luka needs to be surrounded by defensive long guys who can catch and shoot, the Lakers have none of that.

The Suns went to the Finals with Ayton. How far did they get with Nurkic?

In the season before Ayton was traded, he was averaging 18.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 0.8 blocks. Bottom line, the trade did not fix the center position.

I think the Suns would be a better team today with Ayton and Camara than an absent Nurkic. In retrospect, if the Suns were determined to trade Ayton, they would have been better off looking for a better trade.

If you are happier with Allen, good for you.

Since the Nets are rebuilding, using draft picks was simply an easy way to measure the trade for Durant.
You are right. I am saying that's not the sentiment at the time by fans or management, or Suns players. In hindsight you may be right, but that doesn't change why it went down when it did.

I don’t think this is about winning a title now. This is about realizing they AREN’T winning a title again with LeBron and starting to build for the future.

Listening to Steven A, who is the front court for the Lakers now? Then I thought, we have a Nurkic we can give you! :)

Yeah, I've already seen that out there.

The Lakers can do better with the first round draft pick they still have available.

No poo. That's the part I can't understand. Very low value to get Luka. Plus they didn't open up they were trading Luka so the rest of the league could bid up the price. The Mavs MUST have wanted AD REALLY REALLY bad.

Or had had sticker shock on paying Luka Doncic the supermax. If only Mat Ishbia had been patient.

Windhorst saying Mavs not happy with Doncic not taking care of himself physically, and mentally in big moments.

Luka is going to LOVE LA, He will soak all that up. I feel sorry for Ad having to move to Dallas.

Agreed, I am not questioning the Lakers logic in swinging that trade, I just think their roster, as constructed, is terrible for him.

Dallas on the other hand... I cannot fathom what their logic is. Even if his injuries are worse than is out there or if he is more toxic than he even appears, I would have pegged him having far more value.

They made the Finals LAST YEAR, this would be like if we traded Booker for DeMarr Durozan halfway through '22. The fan base would burn down the arena.

It's hard to understand why this trade was not made more public driving up Luka's value.

It sounds like more of a money issue than a conditioning issue.

Reminds me a bit when Mark Cuban didn't want to pay Steve Nash because of past injury problems and that's how the Suns got him in free agency.

Lakers will be flawed this year. I'm wondering if they let LeBron walk now? Make this Luka's team going forward.

Windhorst saying Dallas wanted a premier front court guy to pair with Irving. I guess that's why they went exclusively with Lakers? Supposedly Dallas is in win now mode.
