Braun himself regretted doing it after the game, and to his credit, Gobert wrote it off and basically said the kid deserves to celebrate the dunk because it was a hell of a play. So both sides took the high road on this one.
That's really cool. Especially for Gobert to recognize that and say that. In this case, he was the bigger man, literally and figuratively. :D

I guess once the NBA started down the investigation road, they can't stop, but they may wish they hadn't.

Come on. There is no question that he purposely walked right into Gobert's space. He may not have been looking at him but the intent to gloat was there. That wasn't momentum. That was purposeful steps toward Gobert.

Didn’t think it was that bad but I agree with the tech as it triggered an altercation. I will remember the dunk more than the reaction.

The funny thing with this is that Embiid has beef with the journalist in large part about writing stuff that talks about him being unprofessional and then he goes and threatens and gets physical with him. Very professional behavior Embiid.

Me too, it was a great dunk and his reaction, though inappropriate by league rules, was understandable. My reaction was due to the horribly one-sided comment about that situation.

The journalist brought up his kid and the death of a family member unnecessarily into the equation. That was very unprofessional and uncalled for from the journalist. I'm not saying two wrongs make a right but I can understand the escalated tension.

I'm not sticking up for the journalist by any means, but only saying how bad it makes Embiid look in the process. It's like he played right into the journalists' hands here.

I haven't explored the subject much, but when a journalist brings family into the discussion, especially a deceased member, it's likely to get emotional.

No idea if true but there's long been a rumor the Warriors had a deal for Hayes and dropped it because of that story.

I hadn't heard that rumor, but I previously thought Hayes would be a good addition for the Warriors or the Suns.

I don't blame Embiid for confronting the "journalist". You don't disrespect someone's dead brother and son. Embiid handled it like damn near any man would. He didn't throw a punch. I wouldn't have held against Embiid if he slapped the taste out to the guys mouth but he didn't. We don't know the circumstances surrounding the push either. That's really light. The guy is a writer that covers the Sixers. He should have known he'd have to own up to his words eventually and face Embiid. It's over and done now. If Embiid sees anymore than a game or two then the league really needs to reexamine their punishment policies.

For the record, Isaiah Stewart got 3 games for punching Drew Eubanks in the tunnel at the Suns arena. Various claims to that but it was said to unprovoked. Embiid doesn't deserve the same or more for a shove. I think the writer should have his credentials removed as well. I can't imagine any Sixer player wants him around the team.

And this as well.

Heres the video of Hayes. It's not as bad as Miles Bridges but it's bad. Dude is a POS. No place for that anywhere, especially the NBA. He spat on his girlfriend after pushing her.

I don't have any sympathy for Hayes. However, the NBA knew about this in 2021 and failed to take action.

Now when TMZ puts out video, it appears the NBA is reacting to the media more so than the incident.

My guess there are a lot of incidents the NBA may want to revisit. Are they going to do it every time a new video or morsel of information comes out about an incident with a player?

I'd like to hear more about it before forming an opinion about punishment. If a journalist travels down that road, he has to anticipate a hostile reaction. They should put out a video of it if they want to be fair to other player incidents.

If Embiid was involved in no more than a shove, a suspension may not be warranted.

Mitch Johnson will be the interim head coach for the Spurs, with Gregg Popovich experiencing a health issue.

I hope he is okay.

From this report, Gregg Popovich is okay and is just taking some rest.

Beginning of the end for Coach Pop?
I think it started a while back, seems like the org has been preparing for him to leave. I'm not sure iirc but i thought there were rumors a few years ago about him stepping down and letting Becky coach, or him taking a different position. There were a few times he let her coach a few games.

Watching the Bucks/Cavs game and the Bucks are awful. No Giannis but they were up by 8 with 6 minutes to go. The Cavs held them scoreless through the 2 minute mark and went ahead by 2. Tied now at 108.

Not sure why Giannis is out but they have no depth.

Darius Garland is legit. He has 39 with 7 assists. 7-11 from 3. He's showing up Lillard, who has 36. Garland is the real deal though.
