I'd like to think the Suns have improved at center since trading Ayton, but if anything, they are worse.

When one thinks about it, that's saying a lot.

Aytons presence alone is better than what we have. Teams knowingly can get an offensive rebound on us at anytime. Usually teams will get back on defense instead of sticking around for offensive boards.

It’s just not center though. It’s everyone standing and watching. And we are small.

So one it’s on the gm for getting back crap for Ayton.

two it’s on the gm for getting small players.

Three it’s on the gm for getting players with no heart and intensity.

Ayton was best when Javale was backing him up and sort of pushed him. He was a legit backup who could be subbed for Ayton when Ayton got lazy. He also pushed Ayton in a way where he responded rather than shut down.

The team is built terribly though. Nurkic isn't ideal by any measure but we got nothing of real value for Ayton. Grayson is now overpaid and one dimensional so we're in a worse spot now than we were.

I would argue he would still have one of the biggest pieces of luggage. I just hope the Suns can find something...anything for Nurk without giving up assets. Although, my feeling is we are going to have to ride Nurk out.

I think it would cost the Suns assets if they trade Nurkic now.

It might be better to trade him this summer or next season as an expiring contract where they might get a positive or neutral return.

I've run out of patience with many of the decisions James Jones has made. The Sun's failure to fix their weakness at center is simply the most recent example.

The Los Angeles Lakers are planning to sign former Pelicans center Trey Jemison on a two-way NBA contract and waiving Quincy Olivari, sources tell ESPN. Jemison adds some frontcourt physicality for Lakers. He has averaged 5.1 points and 4.3 rebounds across 41 career NBA games.
