Nothing the Suns did compares to the Luka trade. Pretty much nothing in any sport ever compares to the Luka trade.
the mavericks basically went from a finals team to where they are now. I hate this ownership and management. I thought I hated the cowboys, but this is worse than that. sell the team or move to Vegas. IDK anymore.

It's somewhat similar to what Suns ownership did to the team in 2023.

I still keep asking, why?

The difference is the Suns would have gladly paid Doncic or at least this is my belief.

Kind of interesting how the Suns went from Finals to this current mess. The Mavericks did the same quicker. The Heat also got blown up but that was a player issue more than in their hands. While the Celtics kept at it, patched holes, and won a title. Shows how patience pays off.

maybe so. everything that the mavericks have done is self inflicted. they traded away a top 3 offensive player for a guy that is always injured. and their other top player was overused trying to do too much. bad leadership by dallas.

Lot of luck though, KP was given up on and Boston got rid of the right person (M Smart). Also they were pretty much given Jrue by Portland. It wasn't really patience for Boston, things fell together rather quick to bolster their roster even further.

The Heat are just blessed to have an amazing coach.

If Kerr doesn't get thrown out tonight I will be amazed. Curry gets fouled 3 times on one possession, twice with the ball no call. Down the other end he gets floored. Then on the inbounds Ziaire Williams fouls him again no call so Curry gets pissed catches the ball turns and drills Williams with his left shoulder and gets called for the foul. Kerr gets a T, it was clearly a foul but it was intentional. The Nets played the entire first quarter without being called for a foul. At one point Hield was clearly fouled on a layup no call and I have no idea how Kerr didn't get tossed you could hear the expletives on tv.

Late in the quarter Curry bringing it up court being fouled again Payton, with a mask because of a broken nose screens Williams who flops and draws the foul call. On the inbounds he does it again and doesn't get the call, payton and he then square off in the corner, both should have been ejected but the refs knew they had caused it by rewarding the flops so they don't call anything. Benches clear Kerr goes straight to the ref pointing at him that's your fault.

Nets up 20 after one, and total chaos

Correction the Curry dustup was with Keon Johnson not Wiliams. The Payton one was with Williams.

Jimmy Butler is one of those guys you don't like until he's on your team and you see all the things he does to help you win.

He single handedly flipped the game tonight because he got pissed at all the hard fouls the Nets were taking and he just started posting up D Lo and punking him until the refs started doubling him and kick outs became open looks

Steph is scary.

End of the half Warriors down 8 Butler hands him the ball back to the basket 40 feet away he turns, leans right and swishes a 40 footer. Very similar to the shot in the Olympics but from further away.

I think he's the best leader this game has seen in a long time - until he goes toxic.

Yeah I'm almost thinking it's best to get him this late in his career, Steph has a couple of years left and if they can keep Butler sane until then it might work?

he's already in trouble off the court for not paying rent and not taking care of his house in Miami.

But man he's like Boldin playing basketball. He just got mad because the Nets were taking so many hard shots at Steph so he just started playing bully ball and the game completely flipped. I have no idea what his vertical is but he's as good as I've seen in awhile at pinning the defender taking the lob and putting it in while drawing the foul. He does it at least 3 times a game and he's not exactly tall for an NBA guy.

they lost Podz 30 seconds into the game wiht a back thing and Payton is limited with a broken nose so we may see big minutes from Butler tonight.

Unless Gordon or Lavine come back to the contest a sleeper to upset McClung in the future is Keon Johnson now of the Nets. 48 inch vert at the combine and it looks legit.

Mavs dump Luka under the insane idea that they have a short window and he is somehow hurting it and now they probably won’t make the playoffs. Amazing.
I heard yesterday an opinion Kyrie now might be out all next season! That makes the Luka trade even worse!

The Mavericks are a great farm team. Keep up the good work commissioner.

De’Aaron Fox makes his return to Sacramento tonight when the Spurs face the Kings. The expectation is for Sacramento fans to give Fox a not-so-welcoming reception back after not wanting to stay long-term.

ACL surgeries typically take 10-12 months to get back on the court, but even longer to fully trust the knee. My guess is he'll come back on a minutes limit sometime after All Star Break next season but won't really be himself until the season after.

The Doncic trade was a wrapped gift by the Mavericks.
I honestly feel the owner of the Mavs, Miriam Adelson, is trying to force her way out of Texas so they can be the NBA's team in Las Vegas, Nevada. I think she thought convincing Texas to legalize gambling, at least in one city/area, would be easy. She's made it clear she wants an arena with a casino/resort right next door. She isn't getting her way so suddenly Luka is gone, and they have destroyed the fans' trust of the franchise, raised ticket prices, etc.
