For the sake of conversation and this season, the disparity is not great. The Grizzlies lead the league at 24 per game, the Lakers at 23.2 and the Suns 21.9. From the Grizzlies 24/game to the least in the league Chicago Bulls 19.3/games the difference is less than 5 per game league wide. For fans of all teams, it feels as though the difference is greater and sometimes and easy cop out to rationalize a loss or losing season.

Both things can happen. The Suns are crap and have a losing record. The Lakers gets a ton of fan mail and FTs from the refs.

if we're gonna statistical we have to add the total number of turnovers - then see what percentage of them book and kd account for - league averages is one thing - but your two olympic all star max payroll players leading the team is another - again - i haven't gone statistical - but im guessing what? 1/3 of our turnovers are coming from book and kd? idk - lmk

we can attribute it to having the ball more than other players but i don't subscribe to that logic - if book and kd truly wanted to they could go a complete game without throwing the ball into the stands (book) or into the other team's hands (kd)

and when it's not them turning it over it's the others turning it over while trying to get it to them because kd doesn't move and book has skillet hands all of the sudden

not only that but our turnovers come in bunches - big well packaged priced to move costco sized bunches - that's because nobody takes control from bud to book to kd to just hit me in the head with a hammer already

I originally posted those stats here but moved them over to the Suns thread.

The "not great" disparity in question:

A mere 3 fold that of the team with the 2nd largest differential over the last 3 years.

Booker's turnovers are inline with other guys who handle the ball as much as he does and put up the assist numbers he does. He is 10th in the league in assists and 18th in turnovers per game. Booker's assist to turnover ratios are better than any non-PG besides Jokic, while also being better than the vast majority of the point guards in the league.

Durant on the other hand... he is 56th in assists and 9th in turnovers. His assist to turnover ratio is the stuff you normally only see in struggling young players or big men with bad hands. Scrolling through the lists, Durant appears to be the sloppiest high volume player in the entire league this year, with only Jordan Poole and Anthony Edwards even in the same ball park.

This graph proves the point perfectly. Lakers, with few 3 point shooters and not in their game plan, have to get to the rim and will get fouled. The Warriors, on the other hand, are most prolific at 3 point shooting, but will not go to the line much. But the fact remains that less than 5 fts per game separates the top to bottom teams this year. Wanna get to the line, gotta get to the rim. Nothing to complain about, just a simple fact.

Okay, THAT’S absurd. As good as LeBron and Davis are they aren’t playing like Shaquille oneal planted in the paint all game. I mean, I’m shocked that hasn’t been splashed all over the place.

Jinxed them. Warriors lose to Denver at home without Jokic or Murray. Just a crazy game warriors started 2-14 from 3 and 2-10 from the FT line finish 8-33 from 3 and 15-27 from the line.

The Suns got going in on Aaron Gordon in '21 stings my soul. We were known to be looking at him, everyone knew he was up for sale, he fit a huge need and he went for a song...

His improvement as a shooter is pretty impressive. Saw him in HS couldn't shoot, at Arizona a non shooter, he's 45% from 3 this year. Had 34 I think tonight.
