Depends on the player.
I personally prefer middle pass rush because when a qb can't step up the play is broken.
Aaron Donald.....

However, a guy with real twitchy quicks can often get to a qb before he finishes his drop, and outside guys are often harder to double team.
Chandler Jones-Micah Parsons.....

The DT often has the added benefit of helping you stop the run moreso than an edge guy...usually...some dudes can rush but are shyte against the run.

A good team really should have both. But if you have a superstar level DT, you can put average guys on the edges and still get 8 sacks a year from them because they will mop up once the DT flushes the qb.... but those DTs are hard to find and are why even with flags Carter went high in the draft.

Matthew Golden, Texas’ leading wide receiver in 2024, tells ESPN he’s leaving school early and declaring for the NFL Draft. He had team-highs with 987 yards and 9 receiving touchdowns. He finished with 54 catches and averaged 17 yards per catch.

Tricky question! A. DT who collapses the pocket would help other pass rusher quite a bit. Of course Edges get more sacks as that’s their role.

Kenneth Grant is very interesting. Can he become a similar player to Vita Vea? Is he just a 2 down NT whose athleticism doesn't really show up on the field?

IMO. An Aaron Donald is more impactful than a Lawrence Taylor in today's NFL (not saying Donald is a better player historically than LT). Getting an interior player who can generate pressures and double digit sacks is tough to beat.

I feel like Carter is a better rush prospect than Will was.

Completely agree. Anderson is good but he doesn't quite hit the elite edge arena. Carter can be special.

Getting an interior player who can generate pressures and double digit sacks is tough to beat.

one thing i noticed with the Cards this year:

so many edge rushes just got pushed upfield and the QB stepped into a nice clean pocket to throw

having one guy to make the QB think twice about stepping up would be a giant improvement

Texas star RT Cameron Williams is leaving school early to enter the NFL draft, he told ESPN. Williams is a true junior who projects as prototype NFL tackle, at 6-foot-5 and 335 pounds. ESPN’s Field Yates projects Williams as the No. 28 overall pick in his latest mock draft.

Just finished studying Texas WR Matthew Golden. He could easily be the top WR in this draft class.

I thought he’d be wise to wait a year. He’s had a bunch of drops and body catches too often. He does have speed and is can separate okay. I think he’s third round bu with a good combine could go in the second round. He’ll likely work with one of the combine prep service.
