No man,..just no. Hendrikson is already 30
He could be Chandler Jones and fall off a cliff.

Or he could be Calais Campbell and remain elite for another 5 years.

BTW Campbell would have been our sack leader if he was on the team last year.

Trey Hendrickson would qualify as significant. Sweat or Milton Williams not so much.
Sweat and Milton Williams are considered the 2 best free agents available this class. Getting them both is the best case scenario.

I know Milton's sack totals don't pop out, but he was the most impactful DL for the Eagles in the NFC Championship and Superbowl.

Campbell had two elite season, several really stinking good ones and a bunch of good ones. He's played 17 years and just broke 100 career sacks and had more.than 10 jsut twice. 8 players with more career sacks had better careers who aren't in the HOF and have been eligible for some time. Simeon Rice played 5 less years and has 10 sacks more than him. Aaron Donald played DT for just 10 years and also had more career sacks. Now, that is elite. It's an odd comparison, and I love Campbell.

Oh and he was tied with Zavan for sacks.

Of course, I recall Rice passing RBs carrying the ball on his way to sack the QB.

Interesting bit of knowledge I didn’t possess. Please elucidate how this applies to the principle of how to acquire impact players. Beyond adding trades I don’t see other available mechanisms.

IMO think this 2 days of talking, but no signings is a stupid (seldom used phrase) Free Agency policy. Everyone does “Gentlemen’s Agreements.”

Evan Brown (28) started all 17 games for the Arizona Cardinals and had a PFF pass block grade of 73.5.Only two penalties and two sacks allowed. He's gonna make right around $5.5 million, on average, over the next two seasons. That's good stuff from Ossenfort

No idea. Never heard of it myself. Just adding something.

from the link:

"That's [ 'that" = Cards top 5 OL playing together} slightly less than 20 percent, and the only other team to have their top five play a lower percentage were the Colts, who were at 17.96 percent."

i knew the Cards D line had injuries, but i didn't realize the extent the Cards o-line did as well relative to the rest of the league.

here is the data this comes from. On one hand -- the average in the NFL last year was only 35% or so. wow thats low.

on the other: of the 16 teams in the top half (i.e. their starting 5 OL played more snaps than NFL average)-- 11 made the playoffs. Of the teams > than 50% played 10/11 made the playoffs.

conversely, of the bottom 16, only 3 made the playoffs
