I think it's fair to conclude that Monti thought Fries was the only player that could elevate the quality significantly before the draft. I assume he wanted Fries and Adams as the starters with Brown as a back-up
I think that's a fair opinion. The top end IOL talent was thin in FA. I very much hope he is not looking to Adams as a starter, though. We cannot have him giving up interior pass rush pressure on a regular basis. It'll kill our offense. Until and unless Adams significantly improves that part of his game, he's no starter.

From what we saw last season - I agree.

Adams played out of position in college due to injury at OT. He tested off the charts. He was drafted for potential, not his ability to make an immediate impact.

Agreed. Waiting at this point is fine. What wouldn't be fine is simply waiting for Hern and drafting some mid to late round guys and figuring the OL is complete. Hern is a risk when your other guard is Brown. Adams isn't ready yet--we need guys who can give Kyler time, and he ain't one of them. Bringing back Hern? OKay, only if he is 100 percent healthy and only if we draft some top help. If Hern isn't going to be healthy for a long while post draft, then no, that is a terrible plan that can explode our offense before training camp even starts.
Definitely a "that ship has sailed" situation outside of the draft or a trade.

I am sure the idea was/is to have Adams battle with Brown for one starting spot. The other by Hern or another vet or a draft pick.

My favorite thing about the “we don’t want to be where the Steelers in QB purgatory” argument is not only ignoring that’s EXACTLY where we are, but how the Mouth Of Sauron also completely ignores that while the Steelers haven’t sat still and keep looking for their QB, even though they’ve consistently either gotten to the playoffs or had a better record than we have while sticking with Kyler, who continues to lead us absolutely nowhere… while we pay him a fortune.

i see the Cardinals have released a flight plan (or equivalent) of hosting a playoff game for the Rams

its the one I will never watch. Im fine with stepping up and helping another team when misfortune comes their way, but

its entirely another thing to publicly celebrate helping a division rival host a playoff game -- when you were 6-4 just a couple months prior -- and arguably had you been more aggressive that previous offseason it would have been your own playoff game.

it just feels to me like a commercial for Mike that says "see, I really AM a good person".

I'm willing to give it this one last year, but if Murray STILL can't elevate his game and take the Cardinals to a playoff win, enough is enough!
I think this is a pivotal year for Murray, but keep in mind few teams have made QB changes that meant immediate success. The FA 2026 market offers no one. The draft will likely have Manning going first. After him there will be a few options. Iamaleava from Tennessee might be the second choice. He’s not a certain immediate starter. I don’t like PSU’s Allar at all. Sellers from S Car might have the top potential. Assuming we’re (board consensus) right that the Cards will have a better year, their draft pick will go lower. Thus it will have lower trade value. I think it will cost 3 first round picks plus to get Manning if he has the year I expect. The bidding will be intense. I’m not sure Ossenfort is willing to surrender that many drafts for one prospect, regardless of his family history.

lol their roster too to bottom has been better than ours at every position BUT QB. Which says a lot being Kyler has NOT been good. Get a grip of yourself and Kyler hatred.

I think we are all in agreement with this.. heck I was hoping he’d be traded this offseason to end the Kyler drama on this board.
