The Par 3 Contest marks the end of the practice portion ahead of the Masters Tournament every year.
It provides a chance for players to decompress and enjoy time with their families on the eve of the first round at Augusta National Golf Club. Players will generally get some practice on the main course in the morning before teeing it up at the Par 3, which could become super important following Monday's rainstorm.
The contest began in 1960 and has run every year since except 2017 (weather), 2020 and 2021 (COVID).
Here's everything you need to know about the 2025 Par 3 Contest.
The 2025 Par 3 Contest begins a noon on Wednesday, April 9.
ESPN will broadcast the contest from 2-4 p.m.
The entire contest will be available via stream from noon to 4 p.m. on ESPN+ and Fubo (which offers a free trial).

The Par 3 Course at Augusta National Golf Club is a nine-hole course, separate from the main course. As its name states, all the holes are par 3s.
From there, it's just like a typical golf tournament. Lowest score wins.
No player has won both tournaments in the same week, which leads to the next major point about the event.
Some of the most iconic images from Par 3 contests are of players' children taking the club and making a putt on their own. While it's great for television and memories, once another person steps in and plays a ball, that player is disqualified.
With that fact in mind, it's not uncommon for players to DQ on purpose. Whether true or not, nobody wants to do anything to jeopardize their chances at a green jacket.
