The New York Jets continue to do their due diligence when it comes to scouting quarterback Jalen Milroe ahead of the 2025 NFL draft.
While not amongst the top-rated QBs ahead of this year's draft, New York's coaching staff is reportedly getting plenty of looks at Milroe pre-draft.
According to FOX Sports, members of the Jets' coaching staff for the offense met with Milroe personally prior to his Pro Day at Alabama:
The update between team and player comes after it was already reported that Milroe met at the 2025 combine and had some extra workouts there as well.
Milroe, a senior, put together solid back-to-back seasons at Alabama. Last season, Milroe completed 64.3 of his passes for 2,844 yards. His touchdown-to-interception ratio of 16-to-11 was not ideal, but he did rush in another 20 TDs in 2024.
Clearly a dual-threat QB, Pro Football Focus praises Milroe for his arm strength and athleticism. However, he clearly needs to see the field a bit better with his turnover numbers.
While quarterback Justin Fields signed in New York during free agency, Milroe could potentially be a long-term option or backup if selected with a later selection during the draft. The Jets currently hold eight total picks at this year's draft.
Jets Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2025 offseason.
