The 2025 NFL draft is just around the corner, and the Chicago Bears are gearing up to welcome a new class of rookies to the roster. Chicago is sitting pretty with the 10th overall selection, and there are several different directions they could go after their free agency moves.

Pro Football Focus revealed which player has been mocked to the Bears most using their mock draft simulator, and the result might surprise you (considering Chicago's biggest need since the start of the offseason has been offensive line): Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty.

Jeanty is a total-package backfield playmaker with impressive balance, footwork, vision, explosiveness and big-play ability — reminiscent of Alvin Kamara. He is a first-round offensive weapon who can succeed behind any blocking scheme.

Jeanty was one of college football's biggest playmakers last season, and he finished second in Heisman voting, just behind Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter. In 2024, Jeanty rushed for 2,601 yards, averaging 7.0 yards per carry, and 29 touchdowns. He added 23 receptions for 138 yards and a score.

The Bears have hinted they're looking to add to their running back group, currently led by D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson, and Jeanty's playmaking ability would make him a perfect fit for Ben Johnson's offense. But does drafting a quarterback at 10th overall make sense for Chicago? Especially given they need to further shore up the trenches.
