With just a month until the 2025 NFL draft, mock drafts are out in full force and the Chicago Bears find themselves in a favorable position with plenty of options to choose from.
The Bears, who hold the 10th overall pick, spent the offseason upgrading the trenches on both sides of the ball, and they'll have the opportunity to take best player available on their board, adding to the massive overhaul they've made of their roster in the past month.
Recently, NFL.com draft analyst Chad Reuter released his new four-round mock draft, and with the Bears having four picks in the first three rounds, there were some intriguing mock selections. From continuing to upgrade the trenches to adding the son of an NFL Hall of Famer, here's how the Bears' selections panned out:
Even after they rebuilt the entirety of their interior offensive line, the Bears select Armand Membou to come in and compete with Braxton Jones as the team's starting left tackle. Jones will be working his way back from a fractured fibula he suffered late last season, and Membou will bring quite the competition for him. One of the biggest standouts at the NFL Scouting Combine, Membou displayed his elite size and plenty of quickness to grab the attention of scouts in attendance.
Another position that the Bears focused on this offseason during free agency was edge rusher with the signing of Dayo Odeyingbo, but you can never have too many pass rushers. JT Tuimoloau was an absolute disruptor last season for the Ohio State Buckeyes, recording 21.5 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks on the season. Tuimoloau would have an opportunity to play behind and learn from Odeyingbo and Sweat, while being a steal of a pick in the second round for the Bears defense.
Mason Taylor is another standout from the NFL combine and continues to fit the theme of the Bears being able to take best player available. The tight end position is not an urgent need, but with just Cole Kmet and Durham Smythe set to be part of the offense, there's value in taking a player with Taylor's potential. The son of NFL HalloOf Fame defensive end Jason Taylor, he didn't show his full potential at LSU but still had a breakout season, setting a school record for most receptions in a season by a tight end with 55. He'd be fun to pair with Kmet as a pass-catching threat at the tight end position.
With the departure of Jack Sanborn, the Bears actually do have a need that they fill in the early part of the draft at linebacker. Carson Schwesinger projects to be a productive linebacker at the next level, and he'd have great mentors in Tremaine Edmunds and T.J. Edwards. Last year, he was named an All-American and led the FBS in solo tackles with 90, while totaling 136 on the season, putting him at third in the nation. For the first time in this mock draft, the Bears fill a hole on their roster after they focused on other areas of concern in the opening stages of free agency.
