2-hour season premiere is scheduled to be on January 9th at 8p/7c.

The return of Keifer Sutherland as Jack Bauer, once again finding himself in a nothing impossible time-crunch. Can't wait for the new season to start, but I've got this feeling that it's just not going to measure up.

The first season was great but each subsequent season has lost just a little bit here and there. I hope they do a better job casting this time around. The writing could use a bit of improvement as well - perhaps cheese could help them? That would be cool!

Mummy Star Vosloo to Terrorize 24

December 21, 2004

Arnold Vosloo, best known for his role as villain Imhotep in the "Mummy" movies, has landed a recurring role on Fox's 24, playing the leader of a terrorist plot against the United States, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Also recurring on 24 this coming season is Jonathan Ahdout. The actor, who played Shohreh Aghdashloo's son in last year's feature House of Sand and Fog, will once again play the actress' son on 24. On the show, Aghdashloo plays the wife of a Middle Eastern businessman (Nestor Serrano).

The fourth season of starts on January 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT with a two-hour episode that will be repeated the next day. It then begins its regular Monday night run January 17.

--------------------------------

When I see Vosloo, I think more of Darkman than the Mummy. He was in Darkman 2: Return of Durant and Darkman 3: Die Darkman Die!

SPOILER: PLOT INFO

An early controversy for '24'

By Richard Huff, New York Daily News | January 1, 2005

The first new episode this season of Fox's ''24" has yet to hit the screen and already the network has offended a Muslim group.

After viewing a portion of the first episode included on a DVD in Entertainment Weekly, officials from the Council on American-Islamic Relations expressed dismay at the depiction of a Muslim family.

''At first I was shocked," organization spokeswoman Rabiah Ahmed told the New York Daily News. ''In this particular case, they show an American-Muslim family and they portray them as terrorists."

Ahmed was alerted to the 24-minute promotional DVD this week. At issue is a scene in which a teenager helps his parents plot to kill Americans.

''What we will accomplish today will change the world," the father tells the son over breakfast. ''We are fortunate that our family has been chosen to do this."

Ahmed said the scene ''casts a cloud of suspicion over every American-Muslim family out there."

A Fox spokesman said the company had no comment.

Ahmed acknowledged the possibility that in the remaining half of the first episode -- which was not on the promotional DVD -- the story line could have indicated this was not a typical family.

In fact, based on preview episodes sent to critics for the start of the ''24" season, while the family appears traditional on the surface, they turn out to be a sleeper terrorist cell. Such a story line is not unusual for ''24," which centers on Kiefer Sutherland, as Jack Bauer, a counterterrorism agent who works for the secretary of defense.

I watched them...I am hooked....but some things...

From 7am and pitch black out, to 7:30 am and the shadows outside showing it was filmed around 12 noon...

The news crew covering the train blast at 7:30 are in full sunlight...

Chloe also is annoying...I just don't get why they want to have her act like that in this show...."like always, no one can hear you speak, and where is your laptop"...just semed weird.

While it's a fun show, I had a problem with the last two seasons and how they've essentially given up on the whole "real time" concept, despite acting like it's still there.

It's a show, I know...they have to keep us from boring parts of someone just driving...but still...it sort of ruins it for me.

Not that I disagree with you but;
Come on, continuity on a television series?
Mistakes, lighting angles, sun angles, continuity, are easily found in TV series and movies for that matter.
If you remember, the premier last year was commerial free, sponsered by Ford yet every shot with a vechile prominently displayed a Ford logo. It was over the top.
I am big about maintaining continuity in movies. Television, I am a little more forgiving.
Frankly, you bring up good points but I didn't notice them.
To me that is good TV.

SPOILER ALERT.............

Plus two hours with no Kim can't be all that bad.

No, i understand all that...but most shows aren't about a LINEAR plotline...most just happen here and there...this show is supposed to be minute by minute...that's all.

Still a fun premier...

And no Kim is GREAT!

The soap opera is just starting to rear it's ugly head but overall this has been a great four hours of suspenseful television. I hope they keep it up.

PLUS.........................................................

yes - the entire rescue op was cool and jack was quick with the knife toss last night. i didn't even see it coming - very fast.

behrooz finally did something right as well and took the shovel to that dude - that was nice. i thought for sure he was dead.

next week should be interesting with the hostile takeover of the Nuclear Facilities.

Anyone watching this season?

Much better than last season I must say...tonight's episode was a nail-biter...lots of things came together and plots uncovered...seems like the usual half-way point in the season, but I'm not exactly sure if it's really halfway yet...I don't think so.

Anyways, fun show tonight, loved the return of Tony last week...

I think they have definately raised the bar this season. Best season IMHO so far.
It seems like a nail biter every week. It seems like they are staying away from the soap opera type story lines, Kim, which I appreciate.
My favorite show on tv right now.

Are you counting the first two episodes which were 2 hours long each?

You mean only 3 episodes have been on since the first two? Pretty crazy, feels like more.
