When we first met the Iggles, we were playing our third game in 11 days. After a TOUGH game against a rough NFC east giants team. We flew into their stadium giving us what, 2 days of practice? Dockett famously talked about how he was tired, and how they were tired. The division was all but locked up. Many, including me, predicted we would get handled in that game.

But come on...3 games in 11 days? we now get 1 more game in 8 days. At home.

Where is that fact being discussed in the national media?

The sooner people realize the media is just some dudes with easy jobs, the sooner they will find peace. Screw them all, the Cards will continue to embarrass these fools. Drink and be merry. These are special times.

yall act like the Eagles were comin off a Bye....lol they had just got thier QB benched and rocked in BMore.....i understand the travel factor and evrything and the matchup doesnt mean much....but dont throw it away 100%.....and dont discredit the eagles.....cause 48-20 isnt just because of traveling....its not a big deal and doesnt mean anything concerning this matchup, but dont make excuses for 48-20

I was going to start another thread but this seems as good as any. It is funny how this was Matt's team at the start of the year burt his horrible performence in the third preseason game and Kurt's lights out performence changed the whole season.

I was a little concerned at the start because I thought Kurt was little careless with the ball. I do not think I have seen a QB play as well as Kurt has the last three weeks. He has a quick release and is putting the ball right on the mark where the WR get lots of yards after catch. This is an amazing ride and I feel confident we will beat the Eagles.

I do believe this will be a different game now that both teams have equal rest. Our key will be to start off the game ready to play and not wait until we give up a big scoring drive.

:yeahthat:

If you want love from the media, folks, don't hold your breath.

Besides, we Cards fans, not Media fans.

That's more than fair. There was no excusing that debacle, and we shouldn't excuse it now. Of course, like you said, it has no bearing on the NFC Championship game. Problem is, too many media drones and Philly homers equate that game to a blowout win this week. I just hope the team itself feels that way, because that would be a nice first step to a Cards victory.

He's right Stout. The team that the Eagles played on Thanksgiving is the team that the Eagles and their fans should expect. Buy your tickets to Tampa, Eagles fans. We suck. Beating the Falcons and Panthers was a fluke.

Make no mistake - this will be, by far, the toughest challenge the Cards have faced all year... indeed, in their history. The obvious reason being the game itself - the NFC Championship Game, and all the emotion, butterflies, anxiety, along with what's at stake it brings...
However, Philly is a tremendously talented team in every area. They, like us, are playing their best ball right now. At this moment, their defense is all-world, led by arguably the best Defensive Coordinator in the entire NFL.
Their ability to control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball is stunning. Reid & McNabb have been to the NFC Championship Game in '01, '02, '03, '04 (advanced to the Super Bowl), and now '08. That doesn't happen by chance...

All of these facts will make our win that much sweeter!!!

The Cards have 1 more day of rest because they played on Saturday plus no travel. That Eagles - Giants game was a bruiser with both team beating each other up. In contrast, the Cards were able to rest some of the starters in the 4th Qtr at Carolina. All good for the Cardinals!:newcards:

I've also wondered about the thanksgiving dinner.

Did they have it the night before? Or did they have turkey before the game?

I can see a home team waiting until after the game to have turkey, I can see teams that play earlier games having dinner reservations after the game somewhere, or maybe waiting until they got home for a late 8-10 meal.

But for us, none of those options would work really. Thanksgiving dinner back east after a late game, nope. Waiting to come back to the valley, what 3am turkey dinner? When did our guys eat the turkey? It might be a stretch, but something tells me, they might have eaten a team turkey dinner before the game. If that's the case, them being sluggish is not too hard to fathom.

But whatever, that was then this is now. Whatever was the cause, doesn't matter, this Sunday is all that matters.
