DeShaun Watson in round 3... interesting, as long as we draft Kizer

If 3 of the 4 most needy QB teams (CLE, SF, CHI and the NYJ) settle their QB situations before the draft, then Watson could slide into the 3rd round, as teams address other needs. There was a time last year where pundits thought of Dak Prescott at a late 1st, early 2nd round pick.

I hesitated long and hard at #45...and was tempted for the Cardinals to take Watson there...but it is very hard to pass over an immediate contributor like S Budda Baker (and many others still on the board). I like Watson...I just don't like him for BA's offense.

It's a good point but why would Keim and Bidwill mortgage their future by not selecting a legit QBOF? I am not saying there is a franchise guy in the draft this year but if SK and Bidwill think there is...they have to take him even if he has to ride the pine for the next 2-3 years. A franchise QB is too valuable to pass up.

Good point. I think it is going to be very hard for them to pass on DE Solomon Thomas, especially since they drafted a safety last year---and they could sign Johnathan Cyprien---they have oodles of cap room.

Personally, I would be very frustrated if MB and SK turns the job over to Harold Goodwin or James Bettcher. I know BA think they are HCs in waiting, but I think the Cardinals can attract a big-time coach. Not to say Goodwin or Bettcher won't be good HCs one day---but Goodwin needs to go to team where he can call the plays, and Bettcher needs several more years of experience.

When drafting a QB high---they need to know if this is the new HC's guy, and at this point they have no idea.

The other thing is, a franchise QB needs to play sooner rather than later. Aaron Rodgers is the obvious exception. But sitting 2-3 years is tough on any young QB. And even BA concedes this---he says that if you draft a QB in the first round you have to play him.

That of the draft class is something I hear quite every season, expect for the year with Luck & RGIII.

For the QB, Drew Brees is old ... 39 years old, he is not even a stop gap ...
Matthew Stafford is going nowhere expect Lions crush to earth and finish 4-12 or something like that, and I don't see that happen.
Jimmy Garappolo will probably not going to be a FA, or NE trades him or he is the QBoF for the Patriots.
AJ McCarron thats maybe the only option next year oh and maybe Bortels.

Where is it written that BA is done soon? It seems to be gospel around here. He may be done if his act gets old and he gets fired, but this conjecture that he will retire when Palmer does is not set in stone.

I love the Corey Davis pick and at this point will be disappointed if he isn't the Cardinals pick.

The though of Davis paired up with David Johnson gives amazing weapons for whoever ends up being our QBOF. Plus Davis will get the chance to learn from one of the greatest WRs of all time for at least one year.
