The Seattle Seahawks require more depth at wide receiver. It'll have to arrive via the 2025 NFL draft. General manager John Schneider traded DK Metcalf to the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this offseason, and he also released franchise legend Tyler Lockett from his contract.
Schneider replaced them by signing Cooper Kupp following his release from NFC West rival Los Angeles Rams. Kupp and Jaxon Smith-Njigba should form a quarterback-friendly duo for new starting signal caller Sam Darnold, but depth is nonexistent behind them. Is new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak really going to rely on Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Jake Bobo, and River Cracraft?
Kubiak's comfort level with Valdes-Scantling from their shared time with the New Orleans Saints gives him the inside track on the WR3 role. The Seahawks will also focus on drafting offensive linemen early and often, potentially leaving depth wide receiver to Day Three of the 2025 NFL draft. With that in mind, we've identified three later-round receiver prospects Schneider should target.
Washington State wide receiver Kyle Williams exploded after transferring to the program from UNLV. In 2024, he posted career-highs in receptions (70), receiving yards (1,198), and touchdowns (14). Williams also ran an outstanding 4.40-second 40 yard dash at the NFL Combine. He's an easy accelerator who threatens vertically.
The Seahawks will miss Metcalf's size on the outside. Pat Bryant II has a big profile at 6-foot-2 and 204 pounds. Bryant II was outstanding at the Senior Bowl, using his frame to box-out defenders at the catch point. The Illinois standout was an ascending performer, scoring 10 touchdowns while nearly reaching 1,000 yards in 2024.
Tory Horton suffered a season-ending injury in 2024 after compiling consecutive 1,000 yard seasons in 2022 and 2023. Horton recovered in time to participate in the NFL Combine, running an outstanding 4.41. The Colorado State pass catcher possesses quality speed to defeat coverage.
