Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin was seventh in the league in receiving last season with 1,203 yards and was selected to his second Pro Bowl. It was his third 1,000-yard season in his four-year career. MICHAEL S. SCHMIDT
YOU CLAIM TO BE THE BEST BASKETBALL PLAYER IN THE N.F.L. I would say for me it is a joke, but a lot of people take me seriously. I didn’t play in college, but I play a lot in the off-season and that is how I stay in shape. I play the one or the two position.
THE CARDINALS DON’T CARE THAT YOU PLAY IN THE OFF-SEASON? Our coaches like us to stay active and there is no easier way to stay active than basketball. It is also a form of plyometrics and we build camaraderie with the players on our team.
WHAT ARE YOU READING? I am reading “Every Man’s Battle” by Stephen Arterburn, about sexual purity. The book talks about struggles men have, and all the struggles men go through and what they have to overcome to be sexually pure.
WHY THAT BOOK? I read a lot of inspirational books, but it was brought up in our team Bible study classes. We have Bible study class every Wednesday after practice. We have Bible study once a week in the off-season and do the same thing. A lot of guys liked the book.
WHAT RELIGION ARE YOU? I am Pentecostal. Some guys on the team are Pentecostal and some are Baptists.
WHAT MADE YOU INVEST IN A WINERY? It was something my financial adviser introduced me to. I had never tasted wine, but I was still interested in how the business process worked.
HAVE YOU HAD WINE SINCE? I have never had it. I have never had alcohol.
