The "E74" error is now covered by Microsoft's extended warranty, so you'll probably have to call them up and then ship it to them for repair.

Just FYI, most of the times the E 74 Error is a problem with the VGA connection or some other connection. Check all your cables, make sure they are plugged in tightly. If that still doesn't work, try removing the disk, disconnecting all your cables as well as your hard drive. Unhook any external devices like a HD-DVD, Wireless, Memory Card, etc. Wait a couple minutes and reconnect your cables and try and boot the console with nothing connected. If this error occurs with one red ring (the lower ring) it's usually some type of connection that is easily fixed.

Do you have one red ring? all three? or none? If it happens with all 3, that's usually a warranty repair. :(

go to Xbox support on their website and type that in.

You can file a claim online and print a shipping label.

They extended the warranty by 3 years so the repair is covered and shipping is free.

I had this problem recently.

lol!

In related news, I got a phone call from my dentist to call the office and re-schedule my appointment. Any tips?
If you don't have their email address, you might send them a letter.

There is only one red light. From what I am hearing, the problem is with the AV cable. So I tried what Darth said, didn't work though

When I bought my 360, I also bought one of the 2 year replacement plans from Best Buy. I am planning to take it there instead of contacting Xbox support(which sucks) so I could get a new one faster.

I got the same error I think. I unplugged the hard drive and plugged it back in. Xbox has been working swimmingly ever since.
