Towers is a big fan of drafting hitters early.......

If Anthony Rendon somehow falls to 3, Towers might break a record for quickest card turn in.. although his fielding is average, Keith Law recently said he has one of the best pure swings he has ever seen.

Purke is a stud, anyone who watched he CWS this year saw Purke almost single handedly turn TCU from Cinderella to Goliath...

Cole has the makings of a future Cy Young candadate, but he seems to give up quite a few runs (had a mid-3 ERA) and he famously turned down the Yankees offer in 2008, so he may have some signing concerns as well....

Keep you eyes out for a dark horse at #7 Travis Harrison.. a hard hitting right hander who probably has the quickest bat in HS

Should be interesting..

Cole and Jackie Bradley, Jr. He rarely strikes out and is great athlete, 2 things Towers loves.

I hope Purke is the pick at #3, got to go with the lefty so he gets the nod over Cole. At #7 we need a college bat that is near ML ready, we took 3 HS guys a couple of years ago so if none are available, hopefully Taylor Jungmann is there. Two aces would really set us up for quite awhile.

I hope they take Cole or Purke.

Cole would be nice too. All three pitchers mentioned in this thread are potential front of the rotation aces and you can't go wrong with either.

For those wondering about Rendon, I can pretty much assure you that unless he falls down two flights of steps, fails a dozen drug tests and states that he's going to want a contract that would make Strasburg's look like a league minimum contract, he's going in the top 2.. Specifically #1 to Pittsburgh, who could use another positional star to build around.
