Did anyone hear Bickley and Jerecki this morning on 910AM? They were talking about rumors that the Dolphins might be willing to trade Ricky Williams for a 3rd round draft pick.

If this is true, then the Cardinals should jump all over this.

Agreed. This would keep us from spending our #1 on White. We could then go defensive with the pick, or trade down for one of the offensive linemen in the 15-25 range.

If this is a possible deal, jump in with both feet.

You never know what you are going to get from Rickey. Will he continue to work hard? Or will he quit on us? I think his value is a third rounder

He's never NOT worked hard when on a football team. It's fair to ask if he'll just walk away again, but his work ethic has always been pretty good, I think.

You are correct. It is fair to question if he will walk again, but what can never be questioned, is that he is a work horse when on the field. You can run him 40 times a game for a whole year and he will never complain and just go out and do his job.

If after talking with Rickey I felt comfortable with him, I would definitely make this deal!!!

Does anyone know if he has any strikes against him drug wise?

He has 2. That is why he was suspended for 4 games.

But he has said he is not using drugs anymore. He is very heavily into an asian holistic healing life style/religion or something like that. The method includes not using drugs or booze and the such. Apperently he is really heavy and strict into this new lifestyle after learning about it while on his break in Asia.

There in is the problem. Rickey Williams can be a GREAT RB. If he slips and none of us know if he will, we lose Williams, and White!

A 3rd rounder for Ricky Williams is a no brainer. I bet a lot of teams will be all over that. I'd trade a #2 for him. He needs to beef up some and get back to his old playing weight.

:fans: for a 3rd rounder it would be an absolute steal.

I'm not so sure it won't cost us more if we really want him....talk out here is that there is a mutual love for Ricky Williams from himself and the Broncos. He loves there running scheme apparently (this is via Dan LeBetard) and Denver is looking to upgrade. But T.O. and Sticky Ricky in the same locker room? Im not sure....

I think we should do it and include a player thats not part of the core if we have to....I think he is a great back and a third rounder is not a devastating risk...

My gut feeling is that Denny is salivating over Culpepper and that Daunte loves the thought of throwing to our guys. I actually fully expect that to happen. So im not sure how many draft picks we would be willing to give up in one year, but i do like acquiring a QB via trade(Daunte, Schaub, or Carr only) and then either signing a big time back or trading for Ricky. This way we can seriously draft best player available or even trade down and reacquire our third rounder. Then we can geta OL, FS, LB, or TE without reaching at 10....

C'mon Cards! Be proactive and smart. Take some calculated risks and get soemthing done so fans will start lining up to get into that new stadium...

Denvers brass has already stated they they would not trade for the both of them. They would trade for one or the other. As trading for the both of them would take way to many resources.

That had a lot to do with him retiring though. he said in college he saw Earl Campbell basically unable to walk without assistance and promised he'd never let that happen to him. When Miami started running him so much, he told Dan LeBetard he was considering retiring because he knew as long as they had that system in place, he'd be run until he couldn't walk and he didn't want that to happen. Obviously the drug tests were involved too.

I think Ricky is quite happy splitting carries, that's why Denver is reportedly interested in him too.

I'd be very interested in Williams for our 3rd round pick. JJ would compliment RW very well, and we'd have our power back, WIN!

If it requried our 2nd round pick I think we should pass. Someone like D. Bing could be there for our pick in the 2nd, or another playmaker and I'd much rather go that route than give that up for a risk player such as RW. Where as the 3rd round pick doesn't hurt so much hopefully.

The idea of us trading our #3, hell even a #2 would be a steal for the Cards.

Imagine an offense with:

WR's Boldin and Fitz
RB of Ricky
QB of Warner (If Young drops to us I say we snatch him up)
OLine with Davis and some FA's

We're set.

We are never going to run our backs into the ground though. The most we have proburbly given our backs is just over 20 carries in a game. That could be a selling point to Ricky.

Plus, if I'm Denver the ground game is never the problem. Bell and Anderson rushed for about 2,000 yds this year. They have other weaknesses they need to address.

Ricky Williams is 29 years old, though, and has over 1700 career carries--tough, tough carries. Giving up a prospect that could help you for the next 4-7 years for a guy that may not be the best idea.

Ricky can play for another three or four. I think he knows now that he needs to get the most out of his NFL career. I would buy that jersey in a heartbeat.

Though here are many players drafted 3rd and higher who prove to be superstar calibre, Ricky is more of a known commodity. You can't sat that about any back in any draft. I don't care of the back's name is Reggie Bush.

Ricky is a top 10 back. A third rounder for him, even with his "issues" which appear to be minor at best, is a steal. Do it.
