We need help on the OL. Paris Johnson is the only long-term solution on the OL. We need a dominant run blocker and need better pass blocking. We could also use a #1CB.
Agree with this. If we are going to keep Kyler we have to be stronger up the middle as that definitely rattles him more than edge pressure. Bringing back Hernandez is a start but you can't count on him lasting the season. Hopefully some of the young guys improve but I'd love to see us bring in a nasty guard to solidify the line.

7 or 8, tbh.

What you named, especially a tough RAC slot reciever (not often is that a burner, so I'd add a larger burner WR, OL RT and Guard, and quality OL/DL depth.

I think our corners/safeties are good. Strong front 7 play will let them shine.

But now we have to hit on our draft, and not fudge up FA. We have a boatload of cash, but what do we do with it? If we can fill these holes in FA, we can maximize draft options to not expect rookies to blow up in what is probably Kylers last season here.

If we can't get it rolling in year three of the rebuild under Kyler, OMG this board will be insane. We won't be bad enough to get Arch, so it could be a wasteland in 2027.

I agree, but pressure up the middle rattles almost every QB more than edge pressure does. But yes, we have improved in that area, but not enough, especially once injuries kick in. I do believe that Adams will improve quite a bit going from year 1 to year 2. Curious to see how much Gaines improves also. Having been injured most of the year, I don’t think that Christian Jones will be able to contribute as much next year. We DEFINITELY have to find a better back up than Beachum. I’m so tired of the praise this guy gets while rushers just routinely blow by the old, fat dude. I don’t care how intelligent he may be, he sucks on the field & cannot play in the NFL anymore.

There’s a lot of QB talent at the top of the board in 2026 Draft as of today.

Edge Rusher
Athletic LB
Athletic slot receiver who’s a burner
Premium 2gap Defensive Tackle
Don’t understand the athletic linebacker… We have two that are pretty athletic and good. They just need better protection upfront by better defensive tackles. Jmo

I don't care who the QB is we need to build the OL to help the QB. One thing with the current OL is IMO it's a much better run blocking OL than pass blocking. I almost feel like the pass blocking has been better the last couple of weeks with 3 starters out.

I also wonder if you remember a couple of years ago Kyler was hurt and Colt started a couple of games and suddenly all the false starts ended? I think you see it with the backups in we're getting a bunch of false starts again. I don't know why but for some reason when Kyler is the Qb, we get more false starts, something about how he runs the snap is in play.
The thing is in games so many times it's just a few plays made or not made that change the game.

this game we drop a pick in the endzone, the play to Wilson in his hands can't hold on. The pick off the helmet. the blocked XP, the going for it on 4th down and not getting it in easy FG range.

YOu make even two of those plays we win.

The edge rusher and DL is huge to me though, we just don't have anybody to wreck an offense, we can't force turnovers without all out blitzes and hope for a mistake.

Having a guy like Chandler Jones was who could just beat his man and strip the QB or force a bad throw, that would be huge for Rallis' defense

Arch is impossible.

But the family connection with Peyton and Marvin would be the hottest poo in the NFL.

Literally was going to say that. I've been saying for awhile if we had the chance to draft ARch he'd refuse to sign but then it dawned on the connection with Harrison.

The weird thing for me, someone else said it first I think he'll play all 4 years and I really hope we're not bad enough to get him after his senior year without having to trade and I can't imagine anybody trading him. If we're bad enough to get the first pick in 2026 that would really suck.

But that would be extremely cool to pair Manning and Marv

It’s been fun writing this series about current unit status. Part of the fun is saying some units are finished products. This is a good draft considering Cards’ needs. It not as good a pool as last season. I’m especially concerned about getting the needed WRs. It’s going to take a great deal of work to strategize this draft. Free agency reflects teams are making a better effort to keep their key players. The best options figure to be overpriced. Cards need to keep their key guys like I previously listed. However, I’d say they need more than 4 guys if they want to make the playoffs.

So we just need 4 defensive front players that can get pressure?
If we get a stud Dt that can pressure the middle and add a true edge rusher this defense will be better.
Is that enough. No. We’ll have to see what this staff feels about Lopez, Still, others including the injured d-line coming back or who else we bring back.

Two pocket collapsing DT please and true edge guy. Speed WR, and Oline mauler at Guard. Thats a good start and with cap and draft capital can be done.

Lopez has good backup potential. Fits a rotation.

I appreciate your optimism and the math works. However, other teams will compete for these guys and several have a better rep than the Cards. This is a challenge of immense proportions.

IMO 2025 is the year MO pitched to Bidwill? Rip the bandaid off year one, level set. Year two start a strategic rebuild with eye on future cap space goals for 2025 because I believe MO sold MB this is a 3 year redo to mold this organization like the patriots for sustained success. Has it turned out that way not so much, but as far as the available cap space yes. They have zero excuses to utilize it to full potential with aggressive off season plans.

You could get 3 of these in the draft. One big FA splash is either Edge or Guard / Oline

I would thing that most of us feel this is the year to get after it. We have to strategically tap free agency along with a corresponding draft. Fans are going to quit this team if we are holding on to 35m of cap space heading into the season.
If that happens it will be clear Bidwill is refusing to open his wallet.
