40 reasons Why I Love the NFL by Adam Rainbolt (A-Bomb)

1. Willis McGahee's transformation from Fiesta Bowl wounded to workhorse in Buffalo.
2. Nick Saban's "us against the world" stance in Miami.
3. New England's plug-and-play players; using CBs as WR and DEs as TEs.
4. Fireman Ed leading the "J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS!" chant.
5. Bill Parcells, Drew Bledsoe and Terry Glenn. 1996 Patriots? No, 2005 Dallas Cowboys.
6. Blonde locks flowing out from under Jeremy Shockey's helmet on a downfield block.
7. Terrell Owens shutting up long enough to catch a TD bomb from McNabb.
8. Joe Gibbs' adjustment to a new generation of football.
9. Ray Lewis' pre-game dance.
10. Chad Johnson's solid-gold teeth and solid-gold play.
11. Braylon Edwards emerging as the best WR in the 2005 Draft.
12. Jerome Bettis, all 265 pounds of him, scoring on a 2 yard TD run. Hines Wards classiness.
13. The initials "GSH" on the Bears uniforms; in honor of the late 'Papa Bear' George S. Halas.
14. Watching the Lions on Thanksgiving day.
15. The Lambeau Leap.
16. The fact that 20 years ago, Daunte Culpepper would have been a defensive lineman or linebacker, not an Pro-Bowl quarterback.
17. Any interview with Houston Texans GM Charlie Casserly.
18. Peyton Manning's pre-snap audibles.
19. Byron Leftwich's proclimation that he is the only "black quarterback that can't run".
20. Steve McNair being listed as questionable every Thursday.
21. Michael Vick on any offensive play.
22. Steve Smith in the open field.
23. The New Orleans Saints' melting down by Week 10 every year.
24. John Gruden making "John Gruden face".
25. The white horse statue atop of Invesco at Mile High.
26. Arrowhead Stadium and Dick Vermeil's outward love for his players.
27. Darth Vader, the Grim Reaper and some skeletons rooting for the Raiders.
28. LaDanian Tomlinson's tinted helmet visor.
29. The Arizona Cardinals' new logo.
30. Watching a Rams game in the fourth quarter and guessing how Mike Martz will screw it up.
31. Qwest Field's triangled endzone.
32. Looking on in disbelief as the 49ers franchise is the same one that was a dynasty for the past 20 years.
33. ESPN's Monday Night Countdown's "Jacked Up!" segment.
34. Starting players introducting themselves on Monday Night Football.
35. Being hungover and watching all the early games at the same time, with friends, in Vegas.
36. Scottsdale Lawyer/NFL Referee Ed Hochuli's massive guns.
37. New beer commercials.
38. Rushing home from the stadium to watch NFL Primetime prior to the Sunday night game.
39. NFL Network
40. Superbowl XL (that's 40) ;)

Great list abomb... The NFL truly is a beautiful thing

How about the John Madden mutant, muli-legged turkey bit on Thanksgiving day.

Huge props. That's a great list. This deserved to be a front page article.

It's good to see that there are huge NFL fans on this forum. It's truly the best league in the world.

Red's right about the Turducken, but it hasn't been around in three years.

I'd add "Curtis Martin leading the NFL in rushing despite not having a single run over 25 yards."

:) And it's also the best NFL related topic I've read in months.

I hope the list only gets bigger.

One I'd like to submit: Ronald Curry's "Endzone One Hander" in the blinding snow of Mile High. That catch will be in my mind for a very long time.
