The Clements deal it is so blown out of proportion. It is not an 80 Mill deal. First 27.25 of that 80 Mill accounts for the last 2 years. Second if he makes the team in 2008 the eighth year is voided and the the deal is essential a 7 year 64.02 Mill deal. His cap charge the first year of the deal and his second year of the deal is about 11 Mill each year. Not really that bad considering they had more cap space then any other team. By the time year 3 rolls around his contract will be down right cheap comparatively to other contracts that will be given out between now and 2009 offseason and the continued rise of the cap.

My point was that those are York's decisions, not Nolan's. How much real difference has Clemens made? I would hope when the war budget is skewed to one position, it should be the one that makes a real difference. Help me name a CB in the league today who makes a huge difference under the current pass defense rules? Only the bad ones make a big difference.
