This thread is the bomb. I think Donald has this bet on lock, but I admire gohards gallop and his hardcore gohard or go home swagga. Its gonna be awfully hard to sit in the smack shack when them 9er games come around. Maybe we can check in there at times and throw him what ever kinda love can be shown to a 9er fan. At least he is a real fan, gotta give him that.

Yes, if the Niners win, I'll change my sig.

If the Saints win, you go away forever.

Deal?

Ehh, Donald make him change his sig or something.

Gohard is too entertaining not to keep around. We play the whiners twice and have not yet. :)

For those old enough to remember, I'm reminded of Humphrey Bogart as the deranged Captain Queeg in the Caine Mutiny, going on and on about the missing strawberries.

I can imagine a news conference in the next few weeks where Coach "pants-on-the ground"; eyes bulging - rotating ball bearings in his hand, and muttering "rats, rats, I'm surrounded by rats!"

Good call, but I would be know where in the vicinity:D Great thread!

I was thinking the exact same thing except I couldn't remember the name of the movie.

I, too, was thinking the same thing but someone beat me to it (yesterday, as a matter of fact in another thread). I'm pretty sure it's first referenced by Lobo in an earlier SF thread. Still, it's quite applicable and I can just see Singletary acting it out in real life.

Yes I remember very well. You were always sorta quiet in the NEZ while KOC (RIP) had a nonstop mouth.

Just sayin it's kind of entertaining to make fun of his team struggling.

I was never the big talker.. I just did it when it had to be done..

But thanks for calling me out.. Even if your wrong..

And the 49ers are done.. You can hold the diplomatic flame as long as you want.. But when its obvious to you.. You always have a home here.. I still love you..

Wow. That KOC reference took me right back to the NEZ...

Steve

It was Lobo who got me thinking about that movie.

So someone has to take this scene and add Sings voice, sorta like the Hitler rant sketches.

Didn't look like a team in turmoil to me.

Yeah, While I applaud the loss tonight, their long term outlook is a hell of a lot better than ours.

We have no QB.. A defense long on talent, short on heart and a coaching staff that has a huge question mark going into their first season without Kurt Warner, whom I suspect was hugely responsible for putting some polish on this turd of a staff.

Trent Dilfer had an interesting thought after the game.

He said that the 49ers are a team who lives on emotion. They're an emotional bunch of guys. But you can only go to that emotional well so many times. They invested big in this game, and came up short. Maybe only this short, but short nonetheless.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them have another letdown game next week.

I could totally see them losing this week. With a short week to prepare and having to travel after a huge let down game like that. Tough HF advantage in KC. Wouldn't shock me at all.

Their coaching staff won't even make it through this year.
Sing and staff will not be in SF next year.

Here's hoping you're wrong. Replace Sing with a real head coach and our problems just get worse. Right now, I give them a clear overall edge in talent and coaching is the only difference in our favor. Not that ours is perfect by any means but I still trust our head coach.

that's kind of what I said at the end of the game thread. This was THE game for them. A home opener against the defending SB champs on a Monday night coming off a bad division loss. It's just human nature that they come out flat next week. I think they would even be more flat had they won. At least now there's some urgency to get in the win column.
