With or without Lawson, I have a sneaking suspicion that they are about to be trounced by the Steelers.

What?

That kid is very good...speed kills.

the 49ers brought him in to rush the passer

he has thus far 2.5 sacks in 18 games -- and has gone the last sixteen games and produced all of .5 of a sack

I dont think he has been very good

Navies will be worse.

Oh ouch they were talking about that on the news last night but they said they thought it was just a sprain.

Know he's on the enemy but I hate to see anybody get a bad injury just sucks.

Brought him in?

They drafted him last year and he is their 2nd leading tackler this year.

We need someone as bad as this guy.

the Cards have him -- his name is Calvin Pace. they both produce sacks at about the same rate

So...you think we we could trade Pace for Lawson (even with the injury)?

Pace = Lawson :biglaugh:

there was a fair amount a sarcasm there --

but the 49ers drafted the guy in the first round with the thought that he would supply a pass rush -- he also was a guy who at the end of the college football season was considered a late second kinda guy, but shot up the boards in couple weeks prior to the draft. He hasnt produced thus far.

So in many ways -- he is very similiar to Calvin Pace. Same build, same position, same general draft position, both were reaches, both havent delivered

ah but they didn't use his pass rushing skills till this season. Lawson was used more as a coverage linebacker. Haralson or Moore will take his place, both are good at rushing the passer, but they can't cover anybody.

I meant the Cards...I forgot the Rams play tampa. I still think Tampa will win though.

:)

PS I know you are a Niners fan, good luck.

 I'm really not liking the 49ers, Hawks, and Cards chances this week. I hope i'm wrong.

Nah, you just hope you're wrong about the Niners. You hope you're right about the Hawks and the Cards.

Lawson was a huge blow for us. He had a dissapointing season last year but he seemed to be starting to have a breakout season and this happens. Yeah Navies is worst and Moore is better on the inside...
