The only way Texas can beat us is if they play great defense. If they're off even a little bit, then we have a very good chance of advancing -- probably to face Duke in the Sweet 16.

Of course, we have to beat Memphis first, but I don't see that as an issue.

I agree that U of A will get past Memphis. In addition, I am shocked that so many in the national media feel that Texas will get past AZ - and hardly think twice about it. In my opinion, Texas and Arizona have been headed in two different messages the entire season. Texas has been digressing, and Arizona has been progressing. I think Arizona is a shoe-in for the Sweet 16.

Considering how things started for the Cats, a Sweet 16 appearance, and a PAC-10 championship is a fantastic year for the program. If they were to get upset in the first round, I believe the Wildcat nation will be shocked and disappointed, but will consider the year to be a show of overall improvement of good things to come.

Rivalry aside, when it comes to the National Stage, I'm All Pac-10, all the time. Go Cats, Go Bruins, Go Huskies, Go Trojans.

I picked Texas mainly because if they play well I think they're a top 10 team. They lost 7 games this year and all but 2 to teams in the tournament. they have 2 losses I'd call "bad" USC and Nebraska. USC beat Arizona too so it's not that bad a loss. Nebraska won 19 games.

I don't get the other part. UA started 15-3 finished 12-5, Texas started 15-3 and finished.... 12-5. I don't see that as being headed in the opposite direction at all. Texas 4-4 last 8, UA 5-3 not much difference.

Won't surprise me at all if UA wins the best player on the floor will be Derrick Williams, but I can see why people are picking Texas they've beaten UNC, Kansas, Missouri, A&M, they have shown when they play well they're really good.

Cats pull out the win. I don't think they have much of a chance against Texas. The Cats are just not big enough to battle the Longhorns. They just have to be hot from the outside to have any chance. But for today, I am happy!

Agree 100%. I understand rivalries and all but this is the part I have never understood from other fans. I always root for the Pac-10 when they don't play ASU because the stronger the Pac is the better the Devils look. I am hoping for a final 4 that includes U of A, UCLA, and Washington.

how did you find that picture of me? I stand by my saying Memphis pulls the "upset". How many ranked teams did UA beat on theit way to a PAC Champ?

Congrats to Miller and the Cats for pulling off the "upset"

Laugh it up, it took a cheap shot elbow by tough guy Parrom and a blocked shot to beat a far inferior team by your standards. Good win, need to play better than that to beat Texas.

The elbow was a 7-8 point swing to Memphis. We lost possession, they got two FTs and the ball. Hit both and hit a three. It also was part of the reason Parrom fouled out. Elbow did more harm than good.

I was just throwing the elbow in there as a shot at Parrom, who I have not liked since he was a freshman.

You guys played a good game to come back from being down but almost blew it in the last 1-2 minutes. Good luck going forward, I think Tx may be too much tho, but who knows I have been wrong before.:D

Memphis is a significantly more talented team, just not as well coached which anyone who actually follows college basketball (not you) knows. Memphis has at least three future NBA players on the roster. More than you can say for Arizona.

I think you're underselling Memphis by quite a bit. That's a very talented team and with a little more experience they should do quite well next year. UA has one great player but the rest of those guys are just your typical college players. But, if you're going to try and take shots at them it's best to do it this year. Next year (and the following year) they'll have top 10 talent to go along with a coach that ASU can only dream about having.

The irony of this post is THIS year we won the conference and the Devils were last. LOL. It doesn't get much worse then that. Maybe Tyler should quiet down NOW;)

As for the game, I knew the emotion and athletcism edges were on Memphis side. And both teams totally reversed trends over the previous 30 games from 3 pt range.

I am not loving the match up against Texas but if Derrick 4 Real and one other guy steps up with a big game, I think we will be all right.

Bottom line is our coach is the ultimate tie breaker. I see him coaching circles around Barnes. I only hope we can compete with their depth and talent inside so that edge mean something.

If Texas controls the boards, the Cats will lose by double digits. I just hope they are hot from the outside.
