ala Steve Finley my foot!!! :)

Fins had a career .271 batting avg with some other decent stats.
But yes, CY all the time reminds one of Fins in one of his slumps.
Finley was a streak hitter as no other. When he carried the team, it was beautiful. But he was an easy out more of the time and that hurt the D'backs.

You have to wonder why Steve couldn't get his "A" game to be more consistent.

I think it's due to the same criteria that affects Chris Young and Eric Byrnes.

By trying to put every ball into the seats, they wind up hitting a lot of very harmless, very high pop flies.

Once in awhile, they'd straighten them out, but the norm was very high, rather than very far.

It's a question of attitude. Stubborn attitude.

At least Finley and Young never let it affect their fielding.

Eric Brynes is a different story. But that's because, whereas Finley and Young have some degree of intelligence, Brynes is simply a flake -- a Major Leaguer at the emotional level of a 14-year old.
