besides - if someone rebuts my idea of Butler with information that I believe to be contrary and there is more discussion to be had about the subject should I just shut my mouth and tuck my tail between my legs - I thought this was a place to discuss things - apparently only good things or things I can agree on with people - give me a break.

This board has always been about posters contributing well thought out ideas to a discussion. The atmosphere has been congenial even in disagreement. It is possible to find someone else's position interesting, even if you disagree.

The annoying things are when you hear the same predictable responses over and over and over again. Or when people start getting called idiots etc.

Maybe it would even rub off a little on elindhom.

Man, where did I get this reputation as the board's resident pessimist? I'm nowhere near as negative as some posters. I can't count the number of times I said I was glad the Suns didn't break up the team for McGrady. I was also optimistic about some of the FA center prospects, before we saw them go elsewhere.

I guess people will believe whatever they want to.

obviously the above is the case - but I'm not doing anything to balance things out - I can assure you that - there really isn't that much for-though that goes into these posts - they're responses - nothing more, nothing less and my response to what I believe to be a lot of opinions that just don't jive with what I've seen in the NBA over the course of the last couple years comes out as such - and as far as optimism - people read what they want to read - I'm hping like hell Q signs that offer sheet because it will give us a very dangerous back-court and have said so many times - but when I see someone coming off with statements that we'd be better than the Kings backcourt which singlehandedly drove them to the best record in the NBA until Webber got back - I'm going to comment on that - but that doesn't mean I wouldn't love our possible backcourt - but if people can't see that there are usually two sides to my arguments - such as acknowledging that we will likely be back in the playoffs - yet at the same time being deathly afraid that we just - ah forget it - I guess I should just say at least we should be fun to watch this year (I was just hoping for more).

I'm not sure I even disagre with you, but PLEASE use complete sentences and paragraphs. Dashes are OK one in a while for emphasis, but not as a substitute for periods, comas, and semicolons.

We all were hoping for more. I wonder if the expectations were reasonable.

I don't think there is even a slight chance that Q will sign. In fact, the Clips might be thankful we negotiated such sweet deal for them. Too bad.

Oh, and I disagree about Nash vs. Bibby. I take Nash anyday. Bibby's younger, and will most certainly be better in 2 or 3 years. But right now, I like Nash. I think his value for Dallas has been greatly underestimated. Dallas will regress tremendously without Nash.

I can't wait to see a pissed off shaq in the east. I can see 32 and 15 no problem. Wade will have a huge year. Jones was great playing off shaq in LA. With some decent role players this team can contend in the east.

Detroit isn't going away. Looks like they just signed Dice to a 5 year 30 mil deal.

A front line of Wallace/Wallace/Dice (as eric says) is quite formidable if Dice is healthy.

I didn't see where they signed Rasheed Wallace. Where did you see that?

It was always a risk that someone would come through with a long term MLE deal. Now the Pistons have to hope they haven't done a "Mourning".

no!!!!!!!!! Ah screw it - you know what it's been a while since we've actually been exciting - hell even during the playoff run I didn't know how we were actually winning games with Marbs - just bring on good b-ball and I'll more than likely be happy - so will Ouchie - I guarantee it - unless we're worse than the Lake show and living in LA i Can't freaking handle that!!!!!!!!

Pat Riley is convinced that you need a prominent center to win in this league.
(that is go all the way to the top)
In L.A. he had Kareem, then in N.Y. he had Ewing, he moved to Miami and signed Mourning, and now he has gone after Shaq.

Pat Riley is my kind of coach.........!

well, he won championships with the Lakers anyhow. I don't buy into the idea that you have to have a prominent center to win a championship, especially with the dearth of centers in the NBA today.
